I think it's to be expected. Check again after 11pm, I'm pretty sure your download would be 3-4 times better than what you posted. Although, if you intend on using Rain mobile during peak time, then I suppose the product isn't for you.

So I have found the rain mobile coverage map is very optimistic and very inaccurate. As soon as you walk inside a building - no signal. That's the problem when you can't fall back to 3g and edge.

Rather used the fixed mobile maps - they may be slightly out of date but give a much better idea of were you can actually get signal.

Exactly. Rain is not suited for everybody. I don't get why people are complaining considering the cost of this service.

I think rain will be excellent for a 2nd data sim in dual phones, won't beat R250 for a business day

Not intended for stream/downloading when you get home though, use your fibre at Home for that

Yeah. During peak time I use my normal adsl for streaming. Rain is not for streaming during that time. Netflix and dstv struggled

I have read here that rain is blocking some ports, can anyone confirm if mysql is also blocked for them (port 3306)

I cant think why they would block this :/

Been fine so far. Only had about one hour bad connection since the 16th.

As a matter of fact, I have not used my ADSL since I got my RAIN sim .... 6-11 time slot has not affected me at all. Gaming and even downloads were fine during that time.

Hi Guys

I just need to find out something, when I use my rain sim the download speed is between 10Mbps-15Mbps.

But if I use a VPN the then the speed drops to 100KBps.

I want to know if there is any way to use the VPN without the drop in download speed?

Any advice will be helpful.

Have the strangest problem

Have to reset my router to default settings and add apn again for sim to work

When I switch router off and on, won't connect again and have to do the same

Sims won't connect in phone either
