My internet works fine during the day get 20mb plus but at night it sometimes goes down to as low as 1.5mb. I never get above 3mb at night. Is this normal or is there a fix? I cant stream things it's so annoying.

Same here man, I think the Rain network is so oversubscribed and they simply don't have the capacity to provide everyone with a decent service, the last week or so has been the worst experience so much so that I have to switch to my 4Mbps ADSL line in order to do anything.

Currently getting this k@k speed in Bellville, sometimes drops below 1Mbps!

I pretty much only use the connection now in the early mornings to download what I need for the day, in the mornings I'm able to pull 20-30Mbps easily, thus confirming that the Rain network is oversubscribed and congested.

If they don't improve their network capacity I'll be cancelling my account with Afrihost... not worth the money IMO.

I'm in Kenilworth area and it's amazing during the day. I cancelled my 4mb adsl but thinking if I should just get it back Because I can't stream a thing at night. There's no point in keeping it then. Is there any news of them fixing this? Or is it gonna be like this for months?

I'm not sure hey, haven't had the time or patience to call Afrihost and log a fault, nothing will happen anyways and I'll just be wasting my time, I'm sure many people have been complaining about it and that RAIN is aware of the problem... they simply don't care.

Will just have to wait and see I guess, if it's not fixed/improved by 24 Feb I'm cancelling with Afrihost.

I'm also in Kenilworth and experience this.. Initially it was superb..Now it's just during the day where it works best.
Which is... absurd. Getting close to cancelling my sub.

I was expecting this. Same thing happened to "8ta" as well. It was good while it lasted though. Luckily it's month-2-month.

LTE slowed down to nothing!

Suddenly last couple of days rain lte almost unusable. Speed test 7:50am in the morning

Ping: 58ms
Download: 0.26Mbps
Upload: 0.81Mbps

Eish that's a sad speedtest right there! Wonder if it's just us people in Cape Town that's struggling with the RAIN network?

Same problem in Claremont, Cape town. Been really bad at night for a while now with high ping times and frequent disconnects but it was totally unusable last night...

Which is why all along I called BS on their "fibre in the air" claims. Pure marketing nonsense.

Had a drop out in Durban last night as well. Inaccessible for a minute or two but then restored. Seems to be happening more frequently recently.

Log a fault with your service provider.. Seems Rain's network is now feeling the pinch with so many people on it now

Logged a fault this morning. Connection is still a pile of sh**. So over RAIN LTE bs.

I cannot be happier ditching my ADSL and using Rain. Had one period in 2 months and AHost informed us as a general problem on the network. I always have full signal and speeds of up to 70mbps. Average is over 30. It seems one must check different areas as the speeds could be tower/area specific. As per my separate post the only problem of short range is fixed by using a bridge to my ADSL router
I don't experience any drops.
