Hey Guys

I'm wondering if anyone could advise me as to whether a RCT 2000va UPS will power a Thecus N16000Pro + D16000 addition Server.

The Server is rated at 700W + 500W = 1200W, and has a function in its menu that can auto-shutdown based on info provided by a UPS (how much charge remains). This is fed from a USB cable from the UPS to the Server.

I'm wondering if this cable would allow the UPS to communicate with the Server, and how long I would have for the shutdown of the server.

Thanks in advance

That UPS is rated at 1200W so I'd find something a bit stronger as you'd overload it on 100% of its usage, especially once the batteries weaken over time.

If there's a dual PSU in the unit then perhaps consider 1 per PSU. This would give you enough time to shut down cleanly.
