Can the lead acid batteries in a RCT 3000VA Line Interactive UPS be replace with lithium batteries.
Which lithium batteries should be used and which modifications should be made.

Not sure. Its more than just the charge and power, certain types of batteries require differant charge cycle/processes.

Recently got a RCT 2KVA so interested.

There are direct drop in replacement type things made by some companies like Blue Nova.

There is the additional problem that these UPS aren't intended for 100% duty cycle.
So they may overheat if running too long (or shut down if designed well, but let's say I have my doubts)
Additionally the charger in those UPS are so weak that your recharge time will be something crazy like 10-20 hours.

If money is the absolute object then the best would have been to buy something like this inverter: https://www.takealot.com/mecer-2400va-inverter-black/PLID41382033
Or if you can actually afford something decent, instead this: https://www.takealot.com/rct-axpert-vm-2000va-2000kw-inverter-charger-24v/PLID91107487

Both of the above mentioned can do multiple load sheddings in a day. I'm running a 5kW inverter of the 2nd type and can do 4 load sheddings of 2 hours each no problem. In fact after a 2 hour load shedding I need roughly 45 minutes to be back up to capacity and ready for the next load shedding*

* Only when using Lithium batteries, with lead acid that is a pipe dream.

If I remember correctly the 3000VA has 4 x batteries in it. Some LiFePo4 batteries can't be connected in series or parallel then you get some that can do it.

Personally I would not do it. With smaller UPS's it is fine where there is only 1 or 2 batteries required but with 4 it gets more expensive. You will also need battery balancer/s.

For Example the Freedom Won has a picture of the connections
