Migration of package & Iburst current probles database issues

so my thread got moved, perhaps this information still helps someone.

After the new packages were released i migrated to a new package on Wednesday. As of Thursday I got disconnected after 1 minute if i connected at all. After checking with accounts and regular support and being assured that all was in order !!!, I reached a really helpful and friendly gentleman in advanced support today who discovered that there was some error with the modem id in the database and after removing it and adding it again, all problems were fixed. There seems to be a general database issue at iburst at the moment. You might have noticed when trying to log into the customer account area, someone kindly delted the dump i added to my last post.

cheers usersoosh

Since yesterday ive been struggling to long on the iburst data usage site....

I've been having the same problem. Be good to hear if vanilla iB people are having the same, though, as I'm M-Web on an iB connection. M-Web's member services pages, which get their data from iB, *are* however reporting what seem to be fairly reliable usage estimates (albeit not very helpful, since M-Web's stats don't show the detail iB's do for those of us with after hours usage allowances).

Ive contacted my support at @lantic and they say there a problem with the iburst site, anyway he gave the quota i still have.
Looks until thier site is back up and running will have to keep in touch with ur own support for readings.
Im to curious about vanilla iburst if they having the same problem.

It just gives an error whenever you try to check bandwidth usage on the iB page. Anyone know how else to check usage? Its been this way for like 3 months, other than that everything's fine. How are we supposed to know how much we've used ? :/

@gpe - I have no problem getting my usage off the IB page..
Customer Service -> account summary -> login - and it displays.
Maybe a script issue blocking the login or something...?

Yeah its working fine here.

Heres a few things to try:
A different browser, firefox and chrome work very well for alternatives to internet explorer
Clearing your browsing history and cookies.

Just some suggestions.

Im still getting the error, tried all three browsers Firfox 7, Explorer 9 and Chrome 14, i even tried at someone else house, with my
logon details but still get the error.

The problem for me is also independent of browser (FF7, Chrome, Opera, Safari for Windows - I don't use IE unless I have to), and of course on those browsers (e. g., FF7) where I have script-blocking for security reasons, I have allowed all relevant domains. The service last worked for me on 2011/10/12, I didn't try it on the 13th, but as of the 14th it has now been producing errors for three days.

Anyway, the situation is this: I pay a monthly fee to iBurst (albeit via M-Web) for a capped service. The M-Web site gives me some bandwidth data, but not enough to know exactly what my remaining allowances are (because it does not include the after hours usage figure). That leaves me in the position where I am paying iBurst for a service, and iBurst refuses to give me information crucial to my use of that service.

I have of course tried contacting iBurst via the website form. They tell me it's not their problem because I'm an M-Web user. I take that as iBurst claiming they don't have control of their own website?

This is deeply unsatisfactory, and demands resolution by a competent member of iBurst staff.

I totally agrree, as i also have to call my support (@lantic) and all they can give me is a estimate, and not slpit like afterhours and normal hours usage. Also they say its a problem with iburst and not them and been like that since friday, well for me that is.
I can understand if there is problems but then inform us, and why. Ive seen a few posts back that other people can log on no problem, why is just a few of us, i dont understand. I just hope that when they do decided to get it working that all is still in order (data usage) as i have been keeping records since friday of my data usage. Will be interesting to see if differ or not.

When you guys do manage to log in, you should turn on email notifications.

Then you will get an email telling you whats left every day, since I turned this on I dont look at the iBurst site even nearly as much as I used to.

Be nice if we could, but for me at least it shows the email address as "[email protected]" (i. e., selecting the option would just be spamming M-Web), with no option to change.

Anyhow, I'm able to login again today (2011/10/17 at 17h00), so it clearly was an issue with the iBurst site, rather than anything my end.

BTW, the options for me, and I presume others with iB connections via other ISPs, are much more limited than for iB clients: I can only see my usage and buy boosters (or I assume I still could - the option looks to be there , and I have done so in the past, but it was only twice and many months ago).

Rooi, Iburst,

The uncapped anytime vas usage figures were removed from the daily emails/online usage stats a few weeks ago. What was the reason for this and is there anyway we can have it back?

Thanks

Have you called the accounts department and asked them what's going on quoting your reference number? Whole point of reference numbers is to have proof when things go wrong [like now]

I AM SO SICK OF THIS ****, IBURST.

This is the second month in a row that iBurst has over-debited my account. THE SECOND ****ING MONTH IN A ****ING ROW.

I was told this issue had been resolved, and my account would be credited with the difference, but no, biiiiiiiiig surprise, not only was my account NOT credited, but I've also been charged almost R700 for my 8 GB month-to-month contract. Astonishingly, it's EVEN MORE than I was over-debited last month. So, what, is it going to be R1000 next month?

HOW DOES THIS EVEN HAPPEN?

I want this sorted out, I want my money back, and I want this to not happen again. I am SO ****ing angry about this.

[EDIT] I've applied for a DSL line, which will be activated within the next few days. I want my money returned, my iBurst contract cancelled effective this month's end, and I swear, if iBurst takes another SINGLE CENT from my bank account, you're going to read about it in a full page spread in a magazine or hey, maybe Hayibo.com. I haven't decided yet.

Last time that happened, though, I got a call from your CEO to apologise personally. Moral of the story - don't piss off a journalist.

I hate having to actually make a threat like that, it's positively neolithic in sophistication, but I fought with your support staff for THREE MONTHS to get a browsing issue on your side fixed, with you insisting it was a problem on my side. After publishing an article about it, BLAM! Phone calls, apologies, and the issue was resolved in 15 minutes. Whose fault was it? YOURS.

So apparently it's the only way to get anything done with you people. I mean, honestly, I'm still waiting on a response to a query I sent two months ago. Your customer service is abysmal.

My customer number is W0039937.
