*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

There hasn't been a green light on the iburst modem to indicate there is reception around the Joburg area. Anyone else experiencing this?

Can you please update your location with suburb or are you in the CBD?

When the light goes orange then the BTS has gone off air and a second BTS is not visible to your modem. This ususally means you are at about >8km on the edge of coverage.

It was working fine yesterday afternoon. It went back down to 56k speeds earlier today.

I had a very interesting call with my ISP today stating that there are known issues with the new 2MB modem being very unstable and slow even going as far as to say it doesn't work as advertised. I do not believe this for one second as iBurst has been pretty much flawless the last 6 months for me even using the new 2MB.

I have not had any issues since I got the new modem last year its only been the past week. Again speeds are back to 30kb/s download and 20kb/s upload I also noticed "connection was reset errors" whilst browsing last night.

Is there anything else i could possibly try? I have an external antennae as well but my signal is 100% with or without it. I have tried lowering MTU etc pingtest.net shows 0% packet loss 250/250...

Please help really want to get this back to the way it has been for the last 6 months I am willing to do anything ....

Please PM me your UTID and check the version of the modem via the web interface or putty. The version should be at least v1.03.

Please PM me your UTID and update your location in your profile. At those speeds the speedtest.net url shouldn't even be loading!

It took a while to load. PM'ed you the UTID. It seems to be picking up speed now.

Ps. If you dial into my modem, could you unlock some of the premium pr0n channels please. Thanks.

Thanks Ronald.

I know there can be network congestion and signal issues but it is starting to get really bad (I am posting this from my phone as the connection died......).

Over the space of about 2 months the speed has dropped from 2+Mbps during the day and during storms (I have posted Speedtest results to prove this in other threads) to wildly fluctuating from less than dialup speeds to 1.5Mbps in the space of an hour.

I used to rave about the 2Mb modem as it rocked day in and day out with no issues at all, but now with firmware stories regarding the 2Mb modem and such it tells me something needs to checked out thoroughly with regards to what the deep routed issue is.

I think Ronald and Melanie must be put in charge of iBurst so that these issues can be resolved as they seems to be the only ones that actually care about iBurst customers.
