*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

suuuuppeerrrrr slow. No surprise though. and I 100% agree with @jojoce, iBurst COMMUNICATE. How difficult is it to type a few words to let people know what's going on!
 
Thanks for those, noswal. I am using opendns but it's damn unreliable. And the redirecting of unknown domains to websiteunavailable.com is bordering on unethical - failed lookups should simply fail. I'll try MTN's ;-)

@MrVee - yeah, slower than a slow thing moving slower than usual. Sigh.

Mel You alive - *(I asume this is Mel :) )

So im not too technical here, but should we enter these values into our routers if the not matching or leave as is?

I would suggest that on the router you leave it on auto.

oh my hat, I think it takes a special kinda person to be as slow as the person I just spoke to at unhelpful desk at iburst.

I have an orange signal light on my modem, so I phone to ask if there is a problem with the plumstead tower. I get told to restart my mac..... :wtf: so I try and get an explaination as to how restarting my computer will clear up the orange light on my modem. she then wants to check my account to see if there is a problem with it........ then she says that there hasn't been any reports of a fault in cape town because I must be the first person to phone.... at this point I decide that hitting my head on the brick wall is more fun.

So there seems to be a problem in plumstead..........

Dont worry its not you have the same argument with them (my modem is on a router), all the time, i just ask them to put me through to some one who can help me with out reading from a script.

Dead again here. Well, lights are on but just about 0 bandwidth. Can only just manage to post this..
 
No-one else? Today it's like pre-14.4k USR Sportster speeds. Useless ****ing iBurst.
 
This evening throughput is erratic, dc'ing with online games, streaming music is being interrupted, I guess another ship dropped anchor where it shouldn't have.

Some local is very slow tonight too...
 
crowbar good choice, I ditched them a long time ago. I warn everyone not to get eishbust. The 56k modem speed was just the last straw. My 3g android is doing much better with cellc than this BS. imbust idiots, how long has this current problem been going on? 2 months now? laughable! helpdesk? laughable! eish welcome to afrika heven
