I brought my iBurst modem with me to Centurion today to see if there is something wrong with the device. It works perfectly here. Downloaded my mails and the latest World of Warcraft updates without any issues.
This brings the following to my mind then:
1 - There is either something wrong with the signal in my area.
2 - The signal is fine, but something else is causing serious interference there.
Now, also take the following into account:
1 - When I moved to Booysens Pretoria, I had good signal and connection with a WoW latency of 288.
2 - I have the desktop modem with one of those omni-directional antenae thingies mounted on the roof.
3 - My signal strenght is normally between 90% and 100%, but sometimes randomly fluctuates between 40% and 100% :wtf:
4 - The error rate is the biggest problem, regularly going above 5% and spiking at above 20%, causing slow download, website loading and zero gaming capabilities.
How can I find out what is causing my issues? iBurst signal or some type of interference? I went to a Telkom connection last year when these issues started, but that line has been stolen quite a few times now and they won't replace it anymore. So my iBurst connection is my only hope.
