*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

I can not play WOW on my line scince yesterday
Keep getting huge lag spikes and then disconecting.
whats happening ???

Live in Montana in PTA and signal strenth is 100% but browsing seems sooooo sloooow and gaming is not working.


please sort this out ...

Wasn't online yesterday.

It is better now. I can get Youtube without intermittend buffering, though, I is still not what it used to be.

Just did a test at the DQ BTS using a UTU and had the following:

Test conducted on 06 January 2012 10:01:07 PM

Download Speed: 1042 kbps (130.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 283 kbps (35.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 144 ms

I don't see anything wrong on any of the systems but will replace some HW at the primary data centre this weekend to see if it makes a difference.
 
Wil do a test in a few minutes, this morning at around 4 it was running nicely at a constant between 0.8 averaging at 0.85 and then sometimes going as high as 0.9
 
Yep download speed from Steam is now averaging between 20-40kbps in the Joburg area with 100% signal strength.

However speed test shows this:

Watching YouTube videos have been laggy as well although the speed test does not indicate this.

Ok so did a speedtest on mybroadband

Download Speed: 1555 kbps (194.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 485 kbps (60.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 152 ms

speeds are great again ...but its 2am :(
 
Somewhere something is seriously messed up. I used to get full download speeds on my 2mb modem until a couple of days ago.

There hasn't been a green light on the iburst modem to indicate there is reception around the Joburg area. Anyone else experiencing this?

I am soo glad I got the Vodacom 20gig bundle because Ibursts slow speed and connection issues for this past 3 days as well as during late December have been really annoying.
