I was offered a registry cleaner known as CCleaner 3.07 with many statements of good quality. Just wondering how other users findings and experiences before I install this application please? Thanks in advance for views good or bad.

CCleaner is a well known and trusted application. I use it quite often, I don't however use the registry cleaner function that it comes with cause in my experience "registry cleaners" in general mess up your PC and in most cases you cause more problems than fix. I recommend you stay away from registry cleaners and just use the file cleaning part of the program.

I swear by Ccleaner, especially when it comes to startup apps, temporary files and obsolete uninstaller entries in Windows.

And it's a lightweight app, only 3 or so megs to download :)

Hi there.

Do you think then that CCleaner is good to clean the registry. My reason for asking ... It doesn't matter the online cleaner one uses, there are always more than 100 errors. Even though I rate myself knowing a little more than where to switch a PC on and off, I don't know anything about registries or registry cleaners. I have a friend who bought a cleaner, don't know which one, but he is sure his PC is getting slower and slower.
Are there any real, good cleaner for about $20?

Regards,
Deon

CCleaner is not a bad piece of freeware if you regularly install a bunch of crap on your system.
But the better advice is... don't install a bunch of crap on your system and you won't need a crap cleaner.

CCleaner is good for getting rid failed uninstalls. (mostly crap apps :-) )
I use the startup "disable" and "delete" options more than anything else.
Been using it for years on XP, Vista, 2003/2008 and 7.
No issues.

You dont need to buy a registry cleaner. CCleaner does the job and its free.

Did your friend perhaps click one of those Registry Clean ads and buy it?

Been using it since 2009. Used many features of it. Plus cleaning the registry like a 1000 times, no issues or concerns.
