Rocketnet - feedback?

how long does Line migration take?
I cancelled with my last ISP, tried to sign up with Home Connect, been 2 weeks and still waiting.

Basically have fiber at home cannot use it
Can you be more specific. There are a plethora of fibre providers.

Well, i have tried applying with multiple other ISP's, no luck. So Rocketnet is my next stop.

I signed up via Rocketnet's website yesterday and got a response ticket almost immediately, just make sure you state it's a migration and maybe ping Ronald-RocketNet with your ticket number to make sure things are in order.

Hey @Ronald-RocketNet

Will be migrating over today, could you just make sure somebody gets to my ticket (#161694) so that I can get my account details before I get cut off from Cool Ideas? Thanks!

Welcome to the family :D

I Love livechat (when there's enough agents available)

Applied with rocketnet on Monday, recieved a call in the afternoon, advised that the cable is running into the house but no ont or termination point. Got a call that evening to install ONT, advised there is no termination point, got a call today for a Monday install of termination point and hopefully up and running next week.

Metrofibre backbone

much of a much less tbh. even though cloudare is said to be the quickest
Well you can test it with a ping, but whether that translates to realworld experience.... Who knows? Don't think I can pick up the difference of a few ms..

any reason Cloudflare DNS is better then Google DNS - or is it a much of a muchness situation
So apart from performance, because cloudflare claims their DNS is quicker than Google's, they also claim that they don't store any data when DNS requests are made, whereas Google will store data(IP address, etc) when you make a DNS request. Google can then obviously use this data to serve advertising based on DNS data captured. if that makes sense :)

We don't store your data - thanks Google

//wait who said that

Could be because of privacy reasons as well. Google can link your actions from your DNS lookups to a profile if you use their DNS servers.

E.g. You sign into Gmail on IP xxx.

Then you open up website www.ilovedogs.com.

Your router queries the Google DNS server to get the IP address of that website.

Google matches your IP from DNS lookup with IP from gmail login and now knows you love dogs. All the ads you see next will be about dog products.
