Rocketnet - feedback?

Hi Rocketnet Rep,

I am shopping around for a new ISP (MetroFibre) and am seriously considering Rocketnet. However I noticed the Rocketnet signup form requires agreeing to a debit-order mandate, which is a really, really big turn-off for me. Is debit-order the only payment option that Rocketnet offers?

Arggg. Looks like Octotel is having issues again (Table View).

Packet loss starting again that I thought they fixed

@Ronald-RocketNet I see there is a notice for "node maintenance" for a bunch of areas for Octotel - do you know exactly what that's for? Is it related to the packet loss and poor performance I'm seeing at peak times?

Octotel engineers will be performing node maintenance in the following areas: in a day

Hi DrJohnZoidberg, we have tried to get as much information as possible and seems could be related. Please can you confirm if you are still having issues? Thank you,

RR... will you be offering the GB lite on vumatel like websquad?

Also has anyone has issues watching Youtube live streams that are using the ultra-low latency option? Never used to have issues with this then suddenly this week these streams are unwatchable on all devices except PC/Mac.

Dont normally watch livestreams on youtube... only occasional twitch stream.

If you post a link i can test for you.

@Ronald-RocketNet I’m busy applying for my service in Cape Town (also Vuma). Is there no more campaign for the R1,725 Vuma installation cost? Previously I signed a 6 month contract. Happy to do that again.

Edit: this marks my farewell to the RocketNet thread. It was a great ride. Good luck to you all!

Hi Azimuth, please can you send us an email to [email protected] with your contact detials and quote "
Azimuth" and we will call you back and discuss the options. Thank you for choosing Rocketnet.

@Ronald-RocketNet I have a TP-link router that rocketnet supplied to me under a year ago that was giving me some problems, constantly rebooting. When I emailed rocketnet in regards to this issue I was told you only offer 6 months warranty? This is not stated anywhere in your terms or on your website? Furthermore the box states 2 years warranty? One would atleast expect a 1 year warranty.

After pleading with rocketnet support through emails I offered to take the router myself through to the supplier and was given a supplier name but after following up with said supplier I was informed they have never been a supplier of TP-link products and that they currently supply Rocketnet with their current Tenda router offerings.

I was then given a few phone calls from rocketnet support who have told me I need to get a hold of an older employee at rocketnet who perhaps can recall the Tplink supplier. Then i was given an email with details for Tplink SA. Having contacted them they say my ISP should be sorting this out but will try locate the supplier for me and have requested a receipt.

Having looked at my first rocketnet receipt I can see mention of router costs in the billing but the router name or serial is not mentioned at all. I am now awaiting further response from TPlink SA...
