Router Battery Backup

Gizzu was R799 on sale at Everyshop
Nice. I got lucky.
Got a GIZZU 60W 65Wh 17600mAh Mini POE DC UPS for R799 from ODO a few weeks back. Doesn't even flinch with the current load shedding powering my Vumatel active ethernet ONT + Router. At most I've seen it drop to the 75% indicator light.

Nice!!! I wanted one of these but they were out of stock. The 8800 should suffice as I'm just powering the mesh router.

Playing around with the idea of getting an inverter/battery setup

Me too, thinking of a separate set of plugs in certain locations throughout the house on a separate breaker + lights. I do not think I want a fully connected system, however depending on costs it might be a good idea to just do everything besides the geyser/stove.

8800 will be fine for the mesh router.

Nice, solar input, I’ve never seen that before on small battery banks. So that’s assuming it has a built in solar controller/regulator?
You can just connect the solar panel straight from the panel to the solar input?

Netogy doing its first shift already.

12v ONT and 9v Router running smoothly.

It came charged at 75% out of the box. Had about 10min plugged in before loadshedding struck.

Only negative or rather just frustrating thing thus far. The AC power cable is just stupidly short. And the DC cables not much to talk home about either. So everything needs to be within VERY close proximity of each other.

Thanks for this!

Yes this is very frustrating. They could have included at least a 1mtr power cable.

To confirm. The male plug that plugs into the 19V socket on the UPS is 5.5mm x 2.5mm?

Seems Netogy's sold out everywhere now that I am ready to pull the trigger :(

Anyone know of anywhere with stock?

Amazing thanks so much!

I know it's a bit late now but if you scrounge around at the Milnerton flea market you will definitely find one. I bought two laptop chargers for R20 each just for the plugs, both working fine.
Will need one anyway should I decide to sell my router

Yes just connect panel (60watt max) and you are sorted :). Got its own charge controller build in and you can run AC input and Solar at the same time.

You should have ordered 4. Then run them in series. It will power you fridge no problem.
