Router Battery Backup

How do I check that, plug in and try?

Have a Lenovo G50-80, and a MSI Modern 14 i5
If the input plug has inner and outer sleeve and a central pin then it will likely need modding.

Edit: I see the G50-80 has USB....

Further edit: or not USB, just rectangular instead of round.

It is not USB - is a similar shape, but has a thin round pin in center. On each thin side, has contact strips, outside is also plated metal but do not think it is electric contact surface. MSI has round pin with thin round pin in center. Inside of round pin surface is also metal, again not sure if this is seperate from outside metal pin or not.

If cable needs modification, how is this done?

This works like a charm for laptops with usb type-C , one also gets the pin types in this.E2BEB6DF-B076-454F-A331-50BFF16C6389.jpeg

On the HP, you put a 330K resistor from 19v to the 'sense' pin. Dell use something similar, a voltage divider. If you put a multimeter on the connectors you have there you should be able to figure it out.

Thanks, will check this out.

got my hands on one of these a while back for R1500 and it does not even flinch powering my 8 port switch, 4 x cameras, DVR with HDD and a 20 inch samsung LED screen

Got that too. My router uses 4w haha and use that. The thing hardly flinches with only that plugged in. For my other router I use the Ellies Mini Cube which has a slighly higher capacity, that also does not seem to flinch with a 4-5W router load, which is expected for a 100Wh battery.

Gents, anyone have comment on these ?

Seems a new 48v candidate
I spotted those but came to the conclusion they have a probably 50mm fan in them which won't make it silent enough for me.
For applications where noise isn't an issue they look like a good candidate.

Now out of stock at TL Any similar that can handle the Stage 6 LS?

I'm looking to keep just a USB device powered through loadshedding, like an always on power bank, as power banks tend to be cheaper, however I can't seem to find one that stays on all the time.
Any recommendations for an el cheapo?
