RROD - I'm desperate

ROFL! :P

Anyway just a quick question....these so-called RROD swop out units...are they new or refurbished...

If new...do they provide you with the latest revision or just the same as you previously had?

The general process in SA is that if it's still under 3 year warranty and you have your proof of purchase you can take it to the store you bought it and swap it for a new one.

The problems come in when you don't have proof of purchase, or you xbox isn't local. Both are still supported, there's just a handling fee and bother...

err...Well CNA made it CRYSTAL CLEAR!!!!! that I'm NOT ever EVER ever allowed to take the console back to them...err...EVARRR!! Seriously the guy really freaked out when he explained this to me.

They gave me a RMA form (MI Digi) took my money, gave me the box and told me to F off...since they know I can't come back again

I'd just kick up such a fuss ....... threaten with everything under the sun.

This is one of the scariest posts I have ever read. You go about your daily life, playing your Xbox whenever you want without a care in the world. So much so that you dont even stop to think "It could never happen to me", but then when you read posts perhaps you do stop and think and perhaps you do say to yourself, "it could never happen to me". But then it does. :(

Precisely!!! And I got a spankin new HD TV... I literally walked a few steps to the kitchen to go fetch some doritos.. and when I returned:(:(:(

Well sheesh dude, talk about performance anxiety, it just caved under the pressure! ;)

An elite sounds like a fantastic idea...

The retail stores are getting fed up with the 360. ToysRus pulled it and Incredible is ready to drop it too.

Wow...is the failure rate really that high :( (me scared of me own xbox now)

Is it still the same for the new consoles aswell (including the arcade)

No it's not  ..... it was only the 2007 (?) models .... any model with HDMI is basically safe ;)

barring some doffness on your part (improper ventilation, etc), you're not very likely to suffer any RRoD :D

Believe me ...my unit is open and free with nothing next to it...on top of it...behind it...or even under it (obviously the desk). And I prefer it horizontal :)

According to sources the new Jasper is not avail yet and includes a smaller power supply. So I dunno

The power supply is the same size as those of the xenon's and falcons, what the power supply output is less ! One way to tell would be to look on the power supply. If it is rated for 150 watts it is a Jasper, if it says 175 it is a Falcon !

Well it's 175 :(
