OK so it was a massive power outage in the CBD and seaboard. They are slowly restoring the affected areas. Seaboard expected to be up by 15:00.

I was suspecting the power outage, but for that to bring down a whole ISP is scary...
Yeah... you would think they would at least have generators covering hosting of their website and phone lines...

Or a DR site. Most ISP's use Teraco to host their servers and routers.

they just went offline again. Have spoken to my Engineer at RSA Web and has advised that due to power outage it has caused chaos. They came up but went down again
How the hell is an ISP of all companies so ill prepared for an event like a power outage... something that is becoming common not only in SA but many places around the world...

needs to come up soon as it has brought our Call Center to standstil and even the failover links through them are down

Failover should always be with another service provider otherwise you still have a single point of failure.
