Gayton isn't a clever oke. I don't think he realised that despite his dubious claims of the DA losing power in the WC, they won the highest vote share in every single WC municipality in 2024, which was an improvement over 2019 actually. Yes, the PA couldn't even receive the highest vote share in rural municipalities.

Also he should look what happened in Knysna between 2021 and 2024 in terms of the DA vote share...the coalition of corruption were thrashed there.

What data is that Hermann looking at I wonder? Because if we drop the wishful thinking and just look at facts, specifically the DA's favourite which is by election results, we will see the PA's anti DA stance is paying dividends, in the most recent by election they competed with the DA they went from 3% to over 40%,they have also been taking wards from the DA.

There is a good reason you and Mustafa panic so much when you are going to compete against the PA, you know the truth.

That 3-40% is misleading. More accurate is their 2024 result in that ward (32.7 percent). Crucially unlike in previous DA-PA battles, the DA held on here, so that's a good improvement. I'm not panicking at all - the PA has shown consistently in areas where they govern, they are shown to be completely incompetent. Beaufort West (2021) - PA: 22%, 2024: 15.6%. Also, as I've repeatedly told you yet you refuse you listen, the PA wins most sparsely populated rural wards...they didn't win a single ward in the 2024 provincial ballot in the City of Cape Town. I will only get worried if they break through in large urban wards but until then, I'm not that concerned.

Yes, everyone can see it, even Champ. That's why he never responds to this specific issue, rather skirts the downfall of the ANC with other topics.
Yeah just like he avoids the VAT topic . Him and Malcom both
Then when I do a long post based on maths and stats he labels it hogswash

The DM reporting the following in today's weekly newspaper (remember LS has largely disappeared on a national level).

JHB: 97 715 power outages from July 2024 to March 2025, with 5162 serious enough to take out entire suburbs. Service delivery we can all touch and feel, indeed.
Area I stay in has had about 20 this year alone.
So 3 to 4 a month

He's just trying to cope with the ANC's imminent electoral collapse. "BUT DA" soothes him.

Don't worry about us. DA will hold PA off next year in WC. Rather worry about ANC falling to 30%...

If only @TheChamp put in so much energy in trying to get ex-ANC voters back from the EFF and MK than he does about the fictional collapse of the DA which only exists in his mind and no-where else.

"Unlike in other PA/DA battles, the DA held on here", what happened in the other battles? Was the DA unable to hold on?

I am happy to go with that one, the PA went from 3% in 2021 to 32.7% in 2024 to 43% now, and that isn't the only ward, as you correctly admit, they have been taking wards from the DA, it doesn't matter if those are rural or urban, they were DA wards, so what exactly is the Hermann talking about when it is clear as daylight that the PA is growing and growing at the expense of the DA?

And how is going from 62% to 47% an improvement? Or you mean an improvement from 2024?

Funny that, DA supporters are allowed to worry about the PA and how their anti DA stance is costing them support, they are allowed to worry about the ANC and everyone, but I am not allowed to worry about the DA?

How does this work Mustafa?

I think I know why ANC is raging as much about DA/Powell exposing Jonas' status. Don't want this to get out.

Now, even ANC's cosiness with Iran makes sense.

The blacks were handed a very viable profitable business and then drove it into the ground.
And they want funds to invest into local BEE businesses ?
Then we alse get the below, expect prices to increase on basic products which were used a lot by the lower income groups

Oh lol, if you think me eagerly awaiting the collapse of ANC is worrying, you're delusional.

Well the DA got 54.2 percent in 2024 in that ward so yes it was a decrease, but by-elections tend to lead to lower support for the DA as the turnout is usually not that great, especially in urban wards, although I see for this one it was almost the same an in the 2021 election, so this explanation doesn't apply here. It's an improvement relative to other DA-PA battles where they didn't lose the ward outright is what I'm saying. I actually expected quite a competitive battle because Nelson Mandela ward is an urban ward and the PA just doesn't have the same appeal as in rural wards for multiple reasons related to educational levels, income etc.

Also actually in our proportional representation system, the number of voters per ward is very important. I mean my ward gave precisely 9 999 votes to the DA on the provincial ballot as this is roughly worth about 5 rural wards in the WC. So Gayton would have to win 5 rural wards by 2000 votes each (mostly impossible) just to equal 1 ward in urban CT. The thing is even in rural WC wards, the DA might lose to the PA but they still come 2nd, while in urban CT wards, the PA is often just getting a couple of 100 votes putting them in about the 5th or 6th place.

Maybe. Maybe not. Remember these sorts of articles are meant to drive clicks. So take what they say with a pinch of salt and personally, I'd not worry about it. Just protect your assets by having some offshore. That's the only way, really.
Luckily I’ve financially (and geographically) emigrated. Unfortunately my folks have to live through the destruction in real time

What kind of a Mickey Mouse party, who is the lead partner in a coalition, doesn’t fire their main coalition partner whom they officially accuse of treason and supposedly undermining the entire government?

At least the DA took action when they threatened 48 hours. The ANC on the other hand is only able to fire an unimportant Deputy Minister. Never seen a weaker party. They are in open warfare with the DA but refuse to fire them. Complete joke of a party!

Lol took action with a 48 hour ultimatum. And then went back to licking Squiddel`s boots after the their ultimatum was not met. DA = mini-ANC.
