I'd so love for these US politicians to stop conflating issues, it just gives the ANC & co an easy counter:
- foreign policy decisions? we're sovereign, USA has no right to dictate that to us!
If we want to do business with USA then yes we must not present ourselves as an enemy of USA
You are right it is a choice of ZA whether or not we want to do business or not

- corruption? no leg to stand on, but you mentioned foreign policy stuff so we're gonna focus on that instead, kthxbye!

We have four by-elections today. In Emfuleni, the ANC should coast to victory. In the Northern Cape, this the third by-election in this ward since the 2021 elections - the results show the latest by-election results. I put a * next to the DA result as due to the corrupt tactics of the PA, the DA representative was effectively bribed to drop out of the race so effectively there was no DA campaign. I'm just curious if @TheChamp will be so excited for a PA win as he usually given that in this ward, the PA's direct competitor is the ANC. It will create all kinds of confusion in his brain.

We have two by-elections in the WC. The Berg Rivier ward will be tough to hold on for the DA, although they did increase their victory margin in the 2024 provincial election in the ward than in the 2021 municipal election (the result which is shown here), so the DA should still be feeling positive. The DA will have a much easier time holding onto their Drakenstein ward, however.

Gee, I wonder what the common thread is here?

Of the eight metros in SA, only Cape Town achieved a clean audit, meaning it has credible financials and no significant non-compliance.

It’s not all doom and gloom. Midvaal in Gauteng, with clean audits for over a decade, exemplifies strong stewardship, maintaining quality roads and services.

Maluleke’s audit staff complain of speeding tickets because the roads in Midvaal are in such good order.

The municipality’s responsiveness is what sets it apart, said Maluleke, contrasting this with poorly run municipalities where living conditions deteriorate.

DA councillors and their weakness to fall for Gayton's charms is something that needs to be studied at one of our best research universities.

India does billions in business with USA's "enemies" and is on fine footing with USA

business is business after all

the ANC however manages to suck on the hind teat from both angles:
- associates with USA's "enemies" (fyi they say enemies, but they mean competitors)
- but we don't benefit from it financially at all, we rather hold out the begging bowl to USA

and yes, that's not on, the votas don't get it of course

India doesn't thumb its nose at the US and then throw insults at them..

SA seems to think we can play both sides, but insult the US constantly and they obviously can't get upset about it cos "Apartheid"

sure, but even if we didn't outright insult USA, the ANC still has no f-ing clue how to profit from their better relationships with other countries

India's been making out like bandits the past few years
