The ground is certainly fertile for an attempt at a coup...

Unemployment, unstable coalition government, illegal foreigners, etc.
zero chance.

ANC voters love their freebies.. grants, electricity etc.

When communities get angry and really angry, no amount of protection will stop the people.

Actually reality, history and psychology show that it is very easy to stop a community. Take out the ring leaders, and you can be damned sure the Taxi guys have an ear on the ground to be informed who the ring leaders are if it gets to that point.

The ANC definitely have a vested interest in taxis but people also need to take responsibility. Don't get into taxis that are clearly not road worthy or overloaded. Don't put up with a driver that is breaking every road rule under the sun.

You are the customer, you dictate the level of service you expect and if you don't get it, take your business elsewhere. Ive caught taxis in my younger days and once you're familiar with your route you know who the good and bad ones are.

Only time will tell.

Politicans and influential people in South Africa are definitely putting the idea into people's heads.

Generals playing president in Iran; setting global strategic policy, is not helping either.

All is not well at Luthuli House. Not well at all.
