At work now but im sure at home i got old pricelist, will look it up and post a link or screenie or something - might have a really old one lying around, cpt def had msi.

Hmm...no price, no full pc specs....what gaming PC are they rolling out? No link to find more info ?? What kind of article is this??

A bull**** one at that - a core 2 duo pfffft what about 4 cores if they expect this to handle future gaming needs for a while - no mention of graphics , bleh horrible ad written by a non it journalist by the looks of things.

Rectron is 159 or 169 ex cant remember, 150-180ex is standard pricing for 1gb ddr2 800 now - hence im putting in 4gb :P

Perhaps. I doubt they were not moving stock but probably not making money from the AMD CPU's. The problem with their decision is that they have likely only looked at the AMD CPU's in isolation. With each one of the AMD CPU's, they would have sold a complete system. One should always look at the big picture. Some of the AMD customers will switch to Intel CPU's and others will take their business elsewhere. We purchased 40 odd AMD machines from Sahara last year along with other peripherals such a stand alone MS keyboards and mice, memory sticks, quite a lot of consumables and a couple of LCD monitors. All of the business is gone because they decided to cut one product that was perhaps making a loss or not making much money.
 
yea but abe lets say sahara brings in 300 cpu's

its taking them 5 months to move the stock

they bring in 1000 core 2 cpu's and move it in a month

why keep amd if your struggling to sell amd

its all about the bottom line and having cpu collecting dust aint good for da books :)

amd are basically screwed because intel have a cpu that performs and is priced better than any amd cpu
 
foxconn mobo's are not bad

for entry level pc's like workstations etc

would not buy it for highend systems though

That's like saying Telkom/Microsoft can't be too bad because they're a large company :D

EDIT: And yes, I realize I'm comparing monopolies to competitive companies ;)
