This is what we got as a response from the SAINET ticket that we've issued:

This is just shocking to say the least.

Ditto, I have a 4mb line and was thinking of getting the SAINET uncapped account, so I guess i can't then? Or do i have to manually limit the download speeds myself? That would be ridiculous to say the least. WHY DO I HAVE TO LIMIT THE SPEED, shouldn't that be their responsibility? BIG FAT SIGH!

if they advertise uncapped account it must be uncapped , not have a 62gb limit , if it has a 62gb limit then advertise it as a 62gb account ......

I also got the username/password error with my disabled account. Create a support ticket.

Yes it's absurd. I've replied to their E-mail stating that it should be their responsibility to limit the speed - like the Axxess Uncapped Express accounts are done: 384kbps during the day and 4Mbps after hours. I've also said that I would limit my connection to 384kbps/192kbps up/down if they would enable the account again, which I could easily do on my MikroTik router :)

I am not at home to check my account but my I remotely manage my torrents and they still seem to be running, I'll give them a call and find out what the issue is with the 62GB.

Yeah I've also got the 62GB cap looming, but I'm still about 40GB away from it...

Just got of the phone with a Sainet dude, think his name was Anton. Anyway asked him but the 62GB and he said it shouldn't affect the uncapped accounts, if its used up you'll still be able to use your account.

@Adrenalin, you should check if they didn't disable your account due to speeds exceeding 384, didn't you mention something about getting higher speeds in an earlier post somewhere?

Just called SAINET now, according to their data received by Telkom, I have a 4mb line.

I do so wish i had a 4mb line but unfortunately i honestly don't. So not to sure where SAINET is getting their info from, she is going to send me the email though so i will post back with that or info.

EDIT : I know for sure what line speed i got but how do i find this out to give SAINET evidence that my line is not 4mb?!

Haven't got it yet dude, needless to say i double checked with Telkom to see if i had a 4mb line and i most definately do not. :/

If i did, i would sign up with Axxess and not these fly by night ISP's.

Bad news:
It is stated on our website that the data only accounts are only available as of the 1st of April. When potential clients made enquiries about this, they were informed that if they have the correct line speed in place, the account would be available immediately to them to. This is because our throttling tool is not in place yet and unfortunately we have to rely on our suppliers to have it sorted out etc.
Because of the abuse we have received, all data only clients need to either upgrade their package or downgrade their line before the service will be activated again.

I'll see if I can convince them to activate my account again since I can properly limit my own account/usage. There is no way that I'll limit/downgrade my ADSL from 4Mbps to 384kbps just for a stupid ISP like this.

Update:
I'm not a lawyer, so I might've missed something in their Terms of Service, but AFAIK there was nothing that indicated that they can just terminate/disable the account without a warning. I did see that they will limit (place your account in a slow pool) when you are using excessive bandwidth.

Well spotted, although the intelligent thing to do would be to just mention that to your potentially new clients because i never read T&C's. Still no reply from them. I on the other hand do not even have a 4mb line!

Hey Let us know how this goes, would really like to know if they are nice enough to do this.
Would give them a +1 in my book.

I'm having the same issue. I checked before I signed up for the account whether my 4 meg line will run at 384 from their side. I was given a 500mb test account to try out which ran faster than 384. I asked about it again saying that I have a 4 meg line and the test account runs faster than that. I was told that the test account wasn't limited but just to test 'my links' and again assured that I don't need to drop my line speed and that they would limit the speed to 384. I've now been told that unless I transfer my line to SAINET, they will not reactivate my account. I have all this on email!

Show it to us, please.

I got the following reply.

Hi xxx

My apologies, it is not a 4MB line but a 512K line.

As per our accounts manager at Telkom:

Hi Michelle

It is 512.

Regards

Eugene

The service that you applied for clearly states 384K. It also states on
our website that the data only accounts are only available as of the 1st
of April unless you have the correct line speed in place. This is
because our throttling tool is not in place yet and unfortunately we
have to rely on our suppliers to have it sorted out etc.

The account will only be activated once the service is upgraded to 512K
uncapped, or your line is downgraded to 384K. If this is not done, the
account will only be activated once our throttling tool is up and
running.

Worst news ever:
Unfortunately Sainet can not be assured of that.

The account will only be activated once the service is upgraded to 4096K uncapped, or your line is downgraded to 384K. If this is not done, the account will only be activated once our throttling tool is up and running.

I'm now going to see if I can get the account running of a friend of mine's 384kbps ADSL line then.

I've now been told (screamed at) by Michelle from SAINET that I'm an account abuser and will be reported as such!! I truly cannot believe the utter incompetence of this individual. Below is the correspondence I had with her prior to paying over my hard earned cash.

Hi S

The test account is not subject to a specific line speed.

Please find the application form attached.

Good Morning Michelle

Everything seems to work well. Is this test account the 384K as it does seem to run quicker at times? What is the process to sign up?

Please can you give me more info on you 384K uncapped account for R449.00?

Will it run at 384 even though I have a 4 meg line or do I need to get my line changed to a 384K line?

Hmmm... definite -50 there...

You cannot be nailed as an account abuser considering the fault is clearly on their side...

Technically speaking though, if you maxed your line 24/7, on a 384k line you can get to around 95gbyte/month, yet they limit it to 62gbyte/month ??
