I'm loving it. The battery life is questionable, but I rebooted and will monitor through the day. It might be due to a lot of use this morning though.

Thanks for the suggestion. Any idea how I can subscribe to updates easily?
I love CM but I missed proper Air Command and TW battery life. I only ever managed 3.5 hours SO battery life.

Temasek releases new roms on thr daily, like every 2 or 3 days. The OTA feature was sketchey in my experience.

I used to update every week or when major change logs were involved.

I am on Vitality and decided that I'd like to start abusing the pedometer. I tried use S Health, but it went to sleep and stopped counting my steps! I then Googled for the best Android pedometer and they suggested "Noom Walk", which has fantastic battery life, but is not listing in the Discovery app!

What app would you guys recommend?

That is a workout trainer. The description doesn't mention counting steps all day. I am referring something that counts your daily steps, not a workout that you have to start and stop. (I'm open to correction here, but that app doesn't look like it does it)

Runtastic or Noom would be the best bet for a straight pedometer, but they don't export to Discovery Vitality. MapMyWalk measures distance which should be the same as steps I guess, and links to Vitality.

I think the only pedometers that link to Vitality will be the ones listed on their page?

And then Auto Run Apps

Is SHealth not listed there for you? This would ensure that SHealth does not go to sleep....

I just installed Phronesis on my Galaxy Note 3. However, the APN settings say my user is not allowed to change the settings. So I have followed all the various links on the internet (rebooted a million times with WiFi on) and still can't get it to work. So now I'm dirty flashing it again and trying to select another CSC.

I tried XFM since I'm using Afrihost on MTN first. Now I'm trying XFU (which nobody else has explained), and I'll flash again and try XFV (Vodacom, which was my original provider when I bought the phone).

Any advice?

Just saw this in the XDA thread..

4. I can't see APN Settings, it's showing blank
SOLUTION: Dial *#2263#, and pick either GSM ALL (2G/E) or WCDMA ALL (3G/H/H+), then you can access APN settings now, then go back to LTE ALL if you plan on using 4G only for internet
OR
go to Settings -> Mobile Networks -> Set BOTH Network modes to either GSM ONLY or WCDMA only, and you can access APN settings after that

Okay. So what ROM should I be using? I want:
1) optimized for battery and
2) not 5.1.1 (due to APN issue. I categorically refuse to downgrade to that rubbish again).
CM is the best in my opinion. Just have to wait for a good build and kernel. Use idleKernel. If you can eek out 3.5 to 4 hours screen on you are golden.

Time for me to sign a new contract. Loved me Note 3, anyone else upgrading soon? What phones are you looking at?

Tempted to just keep using my Note.
