Does anyone which variant in the usa regarding the note 7 would work in south africa..... At&t or Tmobile etc..... At the exchange rate its currently just over 11k. My husband is currently there

AFAIK any model that is not carrier locked should work here. So neither AT&T or TMobile's or Sprint's locked one would work. You have to buy the unlocked one.

Well yes you should be able to flash the ROM.

But sometimes USA locked phones are a completely different variant and the 3G & 4G Bands could be carrier specific.

Versions: N930V (Verizon); N930A (AT&T); N930P (Sprint); N930T (T-Mobile), N930R4 (US Cellular); N930W8 (North America)

We normally get the European version: N930F

But sometimes USA locked phones are a completely different variant and the 3G & 4G Bands could be carrier specific.

We normally get the European version: N930F

Yeah, I get that, but as long as you know what version you have, either a sammobile vanilla rom, or a fix from xda for that variant will work. The only issue you may have is the LTE band, and you might not be able to get LTE, or only with specific operators.

Think in terms of warranty ..?
If something goes wrong with phone ?
I might be wrong , but i am nearly positive
Samsung S .A would not repair phone /
Honour warranty (eg .be it cracked screen or hardware issues or whatever !.)
I have read of many users ( on various other forums ) complain/cry , regarding this issue .
They bought device in another country ,and cannot repair it locally, as the warranty only covers country where they bought phone .Only solution was to send it back eg Uk or America etc.
I would also not buy online
eg Orange Store's.
I only bought once online and when I had issues, found i only had a 1 year warranty .
However ,
i want to point out that if you buy/contact etc , from local Service provider eg .Vodacom / its normally a 2 year warranty.Samsung covers first year and eg Vodacom the second...or something like that.?
Plse note , i might be wrong about above view point .( Correct me if i am )
Bottom line ,its your choice.

Won't ever buy stuff online? So you basically 10 years behind... I've had a much more pleasant experience by shopping online for many different things, mostly it prevents me from interacting with employees who aren't trained properly and don't know the products they selling. (Not all employees but most)

Maybe your case was different but buying online is no different(mostly) than going to a store in regards to the product you receive.


Please stop scaremongering other people with online purchases because your single online purchase wasn't satisfactory to you (Even though I'm sure the warranty period was disclosed before you made your purchase...)

Well it looks like the note 7 will delayed in south africa too. On vodacom website says pre orders opening 1 sep. Was supposed to be 15 August
