HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SAMSUNG GALAXY S2!!!

Almost forgot....the Samsung Galaxy S2 is now one year old!! And the coolest thing is that this phone is still one of the best. :)

See here when it was released : http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9100_galaxy_s_ii-3621.php

Anyone going to try LPS?

What is the order of the numbering?
ie is LPS supposedly 'higher' or 'lower' than LP7?

Does it go LP1 --> LP9 , LPA --> LPZ? or is it letters first then numbers.

I'm currently on LP7, enjoying it but there are still a few problems, so wanting to know whether flashing LPS would be an upgrade from LP7 or not?

Like the one dev said on XDA Developers, the best official ICS ROM right now, is a Gingerbread ROM. :p

I doubt if it will make any difference and might just be a few added apps that makes the ROMS different sizes, don't think it's worth it to try different flavors of 4.0.3, they're all the same.

You can go check on www.samfirmware.com, they will list all the official ROMS as it comes out.

Im very happy with LP4 Luxembourg, its better than both LPQ and LP7 (i tried both) and is smoother than 2.3.6, my GS2 is running beautifuly :)

Hey guys, can you give me the quick run down again to update, I haven't done it in a while. I'm running 2.3.6 and want to install 4.0.3 LP4.

Let me see if I recall correctly?

  1. Backup everything with TB
  2. Backup through CWM
  3. Flash LP4 via Odin PDA
  4. Re-root: this is where I'm a little stumped - have things changed for ICS?
  5. AFter rooting, install TB and do a full restore
  6. That's it???

Is that about right?

Thanks very much

That's correct. Rerooting just means install a rooted kernel through Odin, such as CF-Root.

Not too sure about the numbering but LPS and LP4 are getting good reviews.

Anyone else encountered the issue lately where gtalk no longer remains connected for longer than 10mins or so of inactivity?

I've only come across this issue in the last month or 2.

Thanks to Mercurial for all his help via PM. Hopefully I'll have ICS running on my S2 soon. Barring I don't stuff up..lol!

Now that Galnet is no more. Anyone got any recommendations as to a MIUI alternative?

Miuiandroid.com?
Or
MIUI.us?

That sucks. I am still running stock 2.3.4 and I just decided that I am going to try and get galnetmiui installed.

meh might as well wait for ICS to be available via kies now.

Been using Miui.us all the time with My DHD. normally found them better than galnet but don't know if the same is true for SGS phones.

Oh And its now called MIUI united worldwide so I guess its the main site for English versions.
