Yup ... Netherlands roms was good on the past - give some feedback when you can.

Just to give you some feedback....I'm back on Gingerbread 2.3.6 again. :)

I've been using the XEN Netherlands ICS ROM as of last week, mainly because my 2.3.6 ROM is also the XEN one and thought I'd go with something I trust. Well, been using it since last week....happy in the beginning, but then started to get irritated with it.

This is what irritated me :

1. I absolutely hate the text menus. Don't ask why, I just don't like it.

2. When switching between wifi and hspa+, ICS will not connect to my wifi router again. Didn't happen all the time, but it happened.

3. The new task manager just looks tacky and it doesn't work properly. If you swipe all the open apps off the screen and go into Task Manager, it still shows the RAM as being used....so it doesn't work properly, or Task Manager is screwed up.

4. Battery drain just happen faster with the ICS ROM, not sure why. Maybe it's cos they adjusted the display brightness sensor a bit. But now that I'm back on Gingerbread, I've used the phone the whole day and battery is pretty on 67%.

5. Personal gripe, but not happy that they removed the Contacts icon from the phone dialer. I know it's now in the menu settings for quicker access, but I'm so used to it being at the top, still tap there.

6. Why are all the "Cancel" and "OK" buttons swapped around?

The new features of ICS are not enough to keep me on the ICS ROM, so I went back to something that works 150% for me.

Well kingrob, you gave enough of a chance. I guess in a couple of months there will be a better more stable version.

True.

Its not bad, but lacking in polish.

Maybe Jellybean will be worthy upgrade. :)

Hi ppl. Whats the difference between DXLP7 and XWLP7? Or are they the same but for different regions?

I'm on XWLP4, and I think its great. I came from KI4. It seems as though battery drains faster, and here and there the phone loads a bit slower - enough to make most people run back to the previous config, I know!

However, I just like to new feel to things, some apps work a little different (and better - Plume, for instance, in my opinion). My wifi reception is a lot better. And I like the new features to ICS. So this is my ROM until a better stock one comes out :)

Also thank you to everyone's posts on their various experiences, it really helps to keep a look out on what might be better.

Is anyone on the latest stable release of Cyanogen? How is it like? What version of Android is it (or is there only 4.0.3 at this stage anyways)?

The latest *stable* release of CyanogenMod is 7.1, which is Gingerbread (2.3.6, I think).

I'm watching the AOKP mod with interest. They seem to be coming on in leaps and bounds, almost seems to be moving faster than CM.

For those of you interested, ICS Domination 4.2 will be released tomorrow night.

The one thing that I didn't like is some of the menu's were way way too dark. Basically only the image was a way to identify something... Like the menu to add something to the homescreen, it's was hardly usable.... That's why I'm just using Nova with my OS, and not any themes....

Unfortunately not running stock Samsung ICS anymore. I love Vertimus's ICS theme but unfortunately there are some things about his theme that does not work for me, (not going into details) others on XDA have also complained about the same issues and he (Vertimus) basically just threw a tantrum like a 5 year old child.

There seem to be some incompatibility issues with his theme and it didn't work properly on the last Rom that I had on my phone. I think for now I will just stay with AOKP for that pure ICS experience.

I upgraded to Samsung Stock ICS last night. Still prefer GO SMS and GO launcher over the TouchWiz experience. Overall very happy otherwise.

So I got a question regarding dual sim card adapters. Do they work in SA? I searched xda and many say this one works: www.magic-sim.com/product-details.php?Product=9

Do any of you guys know if these work? And can you maybe point me to a local source for a *confirmed working* dual sim adapter.

Thanks

Very interesting...

I'll keep a look out for something that works.

You are referring to the Westcrips AOKP ROM still, right? Have you had any issues? I started downloading it, read that many have experienced issues, and stopped my download. Perhaps their issues were with earlier versions, like version 2.

I also want the pure ICS experience...
