I have been running CM9 rc2 for the past few days and it seems even better than the nightlies. Siyah 3.4.1 also seems to be more stable than 3.3.3c/d which had the odd FC and black screen of death.

Haven't been here in a while, have just read the last couple pages of posts, and all I can say is: damn, this is one heck of a cool community!
I would love to ask your opinion:
What major customisations does RR offer over CM9?
Can one fiddle with BLN on CM9?
I think I am going to change from CM9 RC1 to RC2 just via ROM Manager Premium. That is OK to do, right?

Can only answer on the BLN point - I have it set up and working great on CM9 with Extweaks. Only issue is that it causes the phone to remain awake as long as the LEDs are flashing so has a bit of battery drain. Not much of an issue if you respond as soon as the notification comes in
RR is AOKP and CM9 rolled into one. It is quick, stable, and really cool.
Check the FAQs as well on the official threads - I found a link to TWICS - with a ton of Samsung-specific apks, including Walkman.

There doesn't seem to be a solution other than to play with the white balance settings. But if I recall, the pink spot is not present in the photos, just in the camera module.
Have you tried updating the camera's firmware?

RR looks like it has amazing settings etc but I don't like the look of stock Android.
Am I right if I say that Portal 2.0 and the patch is non-wipe?
Ok guys so I want to take my phone in for a screen replacement, a little darker line is forming on it, the vodacom repair world said its enough to warrant a new screen but I'm currently on Wanamlite with Siyah kernel, should I revert back to Gingerbread stock and then use jig, if so can I just flash it with ODIN? ie No problems reverting back from ICS to GB? Or should I rather try a stock ICS rom and use the jig?

Download stock ics for your carrier. Flash with Odin. Use jig if required to reset counters
Thanks, will get stock ICS for Vodacom, should find it on Sammobile and just set the correct CSC right?

For the more adventurous out there ... I flashed GPS patch for CM9 (or RR) on stock ICS XWLPD. I used to get a lock after a couple of minutes, but now I get a GPS lock in under 15 secs indoors. Here is a link https://www.box.com/shared/4fe93a4c6c17397ae9c8

Make a nandroid backup (just in case)
Flashed the GPS patch via CWM
Reboot
Test

Using Monday's nightly of CM9. Not using the patch. Just launched Maps (indoors), and got a lock in about 5 seconds. Are you sure that your phone is set to use internal GPS?
CM 10 preview is available. Going to give it a try tonight.

I do switch off wi-fi and data to enable only GPS to get a lock.
Guys does anyone know how do I get the stock ics voice input on miui?
On the stock one you could just carry on talking and it would carry on writing your words down as you go but on miui it has the old voice input that only pops up a microphone and lets you say like 1 sentence at a time before going back to the keyboard.

The stock that I downloaded from sammobile only had one file and I had to put that in the PDA field in odin.
Settings > Location services > GPS Source - then make sure 'use internal' is selected. I had it become deselected many nightlies back, which certainly messed with lock time.

Anyone else have screen lock problems with cm9 20120723? My phone would take ages to respond from wake up, was unresponsive for quite a while. Gone back to 20120720.
