I've just completed loading my first ROM. Loaded CM9. Restored everything. Everything working perfectly. Just one question. Can I now load the latest Siyah kernel?

Yes, the kernel works well with CM9, in fact, it should work on all ICS and JB ROMs. Just flash it with CWM if you have it, but make a backup first just incase. Or flash it with ODIN, but I prefer CWM, no chance of usb disconnecting mid update.

Yip. Siyah kernel supports all ICS and JB ROM bases.

I have 3.0.4 installed on my secondary rom, and it seems fine. Why not have 2.6.1 as primary and run JB as secondary?

Yeh, SpiritFM works 100s, dont even have to get the paid version.

Yes. Then best to use 2.6.1 as a daily runner.
