My contract is also due for upgrade in October, but I can already upgrade in July.

I'm still using the official Samsung Spanish ROM & enjoying my S2 each and every day. :)
 
Anyone have a problem with earphones/headphones? It sound like 5.1 on stereo output. Voices are in the background and music and sounds (chairs being moved etc) loud. No audio options in Mobo Player or standard player.

Official Nordic Jelly Bean XWLSN.
 
Right. Couple days with neatrom 4.8. Feels nice and slick but bloody hell it chews through my battery. Will give it a week or two then move back to slimrom
 
Also im trying to use the audio output on the back of the vehicle dock to play audio but this doesn't work. Have to use the earphone plug. Anyone else have the same issue?
 
Anyone know where I could get a new S2 on contract? Still such a great phone
 
Hi everyone.. I've been using CM / SlimRom for ages. I have recently run into an issue where I need to get into the Service Mode Menu (*#0011*) but it doesn't work on non samsung ROMS. I would like to install Official ROM but I have couple of questions:

1) Is there any difference between the different releases of the Official ROM I.E Spanish vs the new ones?
2) How would I root the official ROM, are you guys using philz kernel or flashing with Odin or what?
3) Are there any deodexed versions of the official ROM?
 
The newer Official ROMs looks like they might have a newer kernel.

I've been using the official UK one, but had a phone freeze once or twice. Not sure if it was related to any apps, but went back to the Spanish ROM and all is well again.

Only nasty thing I got, was the bloody updated Samsung apps. Kept my media scanner busy all the time. Disabled Samsung apps, and all is well again.

Thanks man. Yeah I've been reading that the Samsung Apps are known to do that. So you install Spanish and root it with Odin?

I do not root my S2, otherwise my Drifta app stops working & I actually like the Touchwiz widgets on Jellybean. :)
 
I'm trying to keep up with the Rootbox nightlies. The latest ones run smooth-ish. I love the Sony system sounds he's added and the HALO notifications worked pretty cool if your into that. Trying it with Dorimanx 9.32 ATM, seems stable and FAST.

PS, anyone noticed westcript has updated Resurection Remix..?

Resurrection Remix was my favourite ROM. Haven't seen the update yet. But his last release was really bad... very buggy. Hopefully he has fixed everything... will go check it out.
 
So i checked for S2s for sale on Gumtree, just curious to see what the average bob what's for them. Even on there they are rare. S2 is a gem indeed.

Agreed!

If you read the user comments on YouTube, for videos of new Samsung phones, you realise that most people still reckon the S2 is the most beautiful and best built Samsung phone ever.
 
Did any of you try the apk of the s4? Kinda cool in a way. Always wanted to try photo sphere works ok I guess. S2 seems to be able to handle anything
 
Any feedback on the XXMS2 modem? Are you guys finding it better than LS8?
 
My S2 fell this morning - not a scratch though :D

I don't think I will ever use anything else but Cyanogenmod. CM10.1 is king!

I said that, but I've moved back to MIUI - based on 4.1.2, the MIUI ROM I'm running now is awesome.
