Hi guys

My S2:
PDA:I9100WKI4
PHONE:I9100XXKI1
CSC:I9100OJCKI1

Im still running Gingerbread. Kies does not want to update my phone...

So I went to sammobile and am downloading the file with--- PDA:I9100XWLSZ and CSC:I9100OJCLS5
As far as I understand it wont matter since this is different from my current version.
And then I want to root it as well. Will http://www.technoxide.com/2012/11/root-galaxy-s2-jelly-bean-4.1.2-xxlsj.html work?

Saw an interesting thing this weekend. I had some issues with the phone freezing on my standard XFA 4.1.2 ROM and decided to reflash with ODIN. Flash completed without a hitch but as the phone booted, it came up with the Vodafone logo?! When the boot finished, the ROM was littered with Vodafone-related icons and a red theme. I had to flash the UK XEU version to get rid of it. Still baffled as to why the supposedly unbranded XFA ROM had branding..?
 
Has anyone installed CWMR Touch on the i9100? When I install it, it replaces the standard CWMR, but when selecting the Reboot Recovery option, it simply shows a counter at the bottom left that never stops counting. If I reboot the device, and then boot into CWMR thereafter, the original CWMR (non-touch) loads.
 
Yes, it works fine here.

How did you flash it to your device? What package did you flash? With or without a kernel? Link to the guide you followed... etc.
 
What rom do you use? Get the latest Philz kernel with CWMR touch, it has some great new features and flash that via odin.
 
Hi Gents. Since Monday my GS2 won't boot up. It's funny because I got the Z1 on the same day and before that the GS2 gave me no issues at all. Here is a short clip that I recorded.

After using and loving my Samsung Galaxy S2 for more than two years, I am signing off. :cry:

I got myself the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and it is absolutely fabulous. It runs JellyBean 4.1.2 out of the box, so it really just feels like an oversized Galaxy S2 :D

The screen is much brighter than the S2, it's also a full RGB non-pentile Super Amoled display, and the battery life is insane. I am getting close to two days with standard use. Love the Note 2 and will definitely be using it for years to come.

I would like to thank each and everyone who participated in the Galaxy S2 thread, it has been the best source of knowledge, tricks and tips for my Galaxy S2.

A special thank you to OGroteKoning, who was always willing to help and give advice.

I still love my S2, but don't think it's fair to leave it in a cupboard, but rather pass it on to someone who can still enjoy this fantastic phone. ;)
