Samsung Galaxy S2

I am one of the many that is waiting in anticipation for a SGSII.

I have a question though. As per some unconfirmed reports, it seems like there may be 2 different versions that will be available for different regions due to manufacturing short-falls of S-AMOLED screens and Samsung's Exynos DC chips. It seems like the EU, USA and Canada will most likely be getting the Exynos chip with S-AMOLED screen, while other regions will most likely be getting, in my opinion, a watered-down version with a Tegra-2 chip and S-LCD screen.
My question is this, Would you still take a SGSII if it gets to SA with the lower specs (Tegra-2 and S-LCD)?

I am not sure what I would do. At the moment, I think I would still go for it, but it would be a bit of a let down.
The AMOLED sets it apart from the likes of LG, MOTO and HTC, but some people might see the Tegra-2 as being a better chip than the Exynos.
This is all rumours at this stage, and it is also not certain whether the Tegra-2 will also be clocked at 1,2Ghz.

The Samsung Exynos chip will definitely be 1.2Ghz, but if Samsung does ship the Tegra-2 to smaller markets, it in not confirmed whether the chip will also run at 1.2Ghz or the standard 1Ghz.

Don't know about the AMOLED/S-LCD rumour but the CPU will def be 1.2.

SAMOLED >>>> SLCD :(

I don't know if I agree with that any more. The LEDs in SAMOLED screens die over time when they're on, the blue ones die the fastest causing the screen to gain a warmer colour over time. That's why the new ones generally have a blue tint, to compensate for this.
The areas where icons from my notification bar are already show noticeable burn-in in a few situations because if this (I have a Galaxy S).

I'll be fine going to SLCD for my next phone. No screen fade over time to worry about.

Not saying it's a huge problem because it's pretty minor and the screen still looks excellent, but it's an issue I'd rather not have.

Doesn't bother me too much... they must just last 2 years. :D
I would much prefer the S-AMOLED over the S-LCD, just as I would prefer the Exynos over the Tegra-2.

I find it very weird that there doesn't seem to be as much interest in this phone as there is in other countries.

I might actually give in and sell my current SGS for this second generation one. I love my phone but this is too tempting however the 4.3" screen size might be pushing it for me. Will see when I can actually hold and feel one in my hand.
