Not a bad price - but that would make me even warier... I'd only Trust a Transcend Class 10. Heard alot of bad reports about other makes. If you got the cash give it try. Let me know how well it works after 5 months and my search for a class10 would be over.

EDIT: I've found one review for it and it does sound promising...

Let me know if it's a winner

Resolution is still 480 X 800 though... so they're strectching something somewhere to fit it into the larger screen. Quite happy with SG2 screen. Any bigger and it may be a little more awkward to hold.

I use my cell mainly for reading stuff, browsing the net, gaming etc... Like a mini tablet. Calls are secondary for me. I mainly receive calls. Hardly ever phone out (maybe once a week). So for me, priority on a mobile device is screen size (must still fit in pocket), CPU, RAM and storage.

HTC are coming out with a 5" device, 720p res and 1.5Ghz dual core. Read about it on Pulse the other day. If that comes our way soon, I am grabbing one for sure.

5"? No man; form should never outstrip function.

I wouldn't mind for a 720p resolution in the current screen size; that would be awesome.

5" I think would be perfect (for me). IMO this is an enhancement to the form related to function. Just as well there are many choices :)

I have read that class 10 maybe overkill and that class 6 cards are the sweet spot on the SGS2.

Now this is what you should do when you post in here. This was one of my first apps that I downloaded when I got my phone.

Just grabbed it from market. Thanks. Really nice interface. App2SD would be a nice addition.

Okay, stuff the new Samsung Galaxy S 2 LTE. Stuff the new HTC <Something> with it's 5" 720p screen. THIS is going to be my new phone. It cannot get here fast enough. I don't think I have EVER been so amped over a new device.

Yeah! saw this this morning - looks truly awesome. Samsung have released a whole slew of beautiful little Gadgets this morning. I'm hoping they get here REAL quick. I can never have enough phones and gadgets

Got my S2 today! Yay. I'm new to the uber-phone brigade, so I don't know if I'm naive by thinking this wifi connectivity sucks. I'm sitting next to my laptop which is getting great connection to my ADSL modem but my S2 is choking and spluttering and keeps losing conn when I'm trying to download apps etc. Bit of a downer, guess it must be a setting or something?

I have no problem connecting to any Wi-Fi Spot. Have you tried connecting through a different router or hot-spot?
Is your router properly set up for DHCP?
Try testing it early tomorrow morning somewhere. Preferably close to wherever you got it. If its a hardware problem you still got a few hours to swap it out.

Good luck. Hope you get it sorted.

Sweet, thanks. Unfortunately DHCP means JARGON to me right now, but I'll read up on it and try figure that out tomorrow :)

Some googling shows that I'm definitely not the only one with an S2 that has terrible wifi connectivity :/

not having problems with my wifi at all can get it from my cheap ap anywhere in my house

DHCP basically means that your router automatically assigns an IP address for any device connecting to it. Either via cable or wifi. If you're router isn't giving your phone it's own ip address you will experience little to no connection.

It could be your laptop is connected with a manually assigned IP address. Do you have other devices connected to the routers wifi that do work?
If you know how to log in to your router you could also manually assign your phones mac address as an allowed device.
I'd try explain the processes for the above but each router is different and requires different methods.

If all else fails take it back where you got it and get them to test and replace if necessary.

Thanks for the info, meta! I will be away from home for a week, so I'll have to set it up on my Netgear modem later. For now, I'm accessing a Telkom Duoplus 300W modem. I think I found the MAC address section (under 'bridge filters'), but can't figure out what the 'src' and 'dest' MAC addresses should be. I entered my S2 address in both and it's still bad.

I installed some FXR Wifi app and I think it helped...a little. Hard to say :) Either way, I get full conn when sitting next to the modem, as soon as I start walking away it drops to 2 bars...then 1 bar...then nothing in places.
