- Battery life is a LOT better and this is without rooting (Android process now only chowing about 15% of the battery as compared to previous 50~60% :D)
- Home screens now have endless loop (You can go from 1 to 7 and vice versa)

I would highly recommend this update to anyone not wanting to go the custom rom route like me :)

Why don't you want to go the custom ROM route? Either way you have already voided your warranty. They will most likely check which version of the ROM is on your phone and notice that they have not pushed that version out on Kies yet.

To be honest I just like the stock look of the phone :)... And I have got quite a bit of experience with custom roms (own a Tab 10.1v and flash it often) so I know there is always a little bug here or there which is less likely to happen on a stock rom.
Plus I can always flash it back to an earlier version of 2.3.3 and upgrade to the local 2.3.4 whenever it releases as far as warranty is concerned
 
Finally decided to root... First app to go... AP mobile.

It is the biggest user of resources ever... My phone is a whole lot better now just because of that.

I rooted... Then found an app that could remove it... Then removed that app.... Will look for it again.

I updated to 2.3.5... My gps is also 10 times better... Wifi is good... Why do they hate on us for fixing their rubbish release :/

as mentioned before, my battery suddenly only lasted about 20 hours. last night i checked before i went to bed that the % was 92 tthis morning it was 54%. that is a massive 38% on idle. wifi was on all the time. before it would only take about 8% for about 8 hours of idle with wifi on.

@mikesmit. i got the battery stat program, but how do i use it to see what is chowing battery power?

Do you check running applications? You Will find that the longer you use your phone without a restart or actively managing apps Will lead to more and more running apps. And therefore less battery.

There are apps that passively close unused apps from time to time. So either monitor apps (hold down menu and then click on task manager) or get one of these passive apps
