Cynogen mod look like they getting close to producing a nice rom for us. Otherwise foxhound has been working well for me, thinking about looking at some other ROMS though.

I've stuck with CM9 for the last 2 months or so (trying others, but always going back). Now video recording works - only remaining issues are TV-out and radio (which they're not planning to include in any case), as far as I'm aware. Too soon to tell what battery performance is like on today's build, but the previous few have been superb.

I'm on MIUI and it's very hard to go back to a stock ROM. MIUI is what Android should look like.

120% agree with you.

I just can not get myself to like any other version, hell I even went back from ICS to MIUI because of the simplicity and themes that MIUI has.

Yeah. One wonders why Google cannot get some proper graphic designers or heck, even some MIUI guys to do some graphics for them.
Android looks so Windows 98-ish and iOS looks like Windows 7 but Android has the potential to look so much better if Google actually gave a f**k.

Please give link for MIUI

Hey, I have this phone and I have a problem with the camera. I've scoured the web and I've yet to find a solution - seems to be a common problem with the phone ? Whenever the sun's out and it's bright my camera gets this pink spot right in the middle when I take pictures.

I was wondering if anyone has encountered this problem and has any tricks/solutions to fix it. I've tried cleaning the lense and looked for camera firmware updates but couldn't find any.

This video I found on Youtube illustrates the problem I'm having: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QznuN_ZUh-A

Some suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Which theme is that? Looks nice.

Thanx

Kind of a mix up between Neon Green and Black Ice with a custom Background.

Black Ice -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318364
Neon Green -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1135212

Dont remember where I got the Background but it was some abstract I got searching Google for Abstract wallpapers.

Edit: Wow, only realized this now, the Neon series was created by a South African living in JHB. Way to go Jumba, if you even see this :)

Awesome guys. Thanks for the MIUI links. I will look into it. My "I WANT ICS"-craze is long gone. All I want is a great interface even if it means I stay on GB forever.

+1

Been using LPQ here too with zero issues. I did a clean wipe though. Perhaps others didn't?

I've updated every time there is a new firmware. Never done a clean wipe. Never had any problems.

Maybe has something to do with apps or configuration settings?

There's quite a list, but issues I have picked up so far, on different official ICS ROMS :

1. Huge battery drain when using an Exchange mail account
2. bluetooth does not work
3. cannot connect to EAP wifi
4. streaming becomes erratic from phone to tv
5. Apps2SD does not work
6. Installing Text-to-speech engines doesn't give you option to select different voices
7. poor battery life
8. Display freezing up and having to do a battery pull

If you really want to, you can go and sift through 300 pages + .... here's the link.

Well, I must say I'm still very happy with reflashing 2.3.6 on my phone and it's gonna stay till Samsung sort their **** out.

I'm running LP7 and don't have any of these issues. My phone is faster, has better battery life, data connection is faster and best of all GPS has my location almost immediately.

Jeepers! Have you really done all the updates? I just checked Samfirmware and ther must be 80+ firmwares that came out? How long have you had your SGS2?

All the official firmwares starting xx or ox or xw from Intratechs thread. About 10 since I got the phone 6months ago. The only ones I didn't try was the ICS before Lpq.

Okay. I've given it another shot now.

Did a complete wipe and flashed the latest LP3 release.

Also rooted it and with Droidwall restricted 80% of my apps from using 3G. Especially the email app that gave me problems on LPQ.

No issues so far but I am still concerned about the usage of the email app. My wifi usage shows that the email app has used 80mb in the few hours I have been back on ICS. And I only received two emails during that time.

So somehow the app keeps on checking or downloading mails?!
