Your phone sounds like a dud...it does get hot when you're playing some games, or watch videos, but not so much that you can't hold it in your hand.

Anyways, either your phone is a dud and it needs to be replaced, or you screwed it up real good. :)

Try to return it to a shop and see what happens.

Yea, tried taking out the battery and doing a Wipe Battery Stats in Recovery as well.

Haven't really done much testing with watching videos and playing games, but will try a bit later and post feedback.

Just thinking I should take it back and see what they say. Seems to be a dud unit :(

Boot into download mode and see if the counter is more than 0. If so, you might have to reset the counter before taking it in
 
Guys if I take it back to MTN, what do I need to take (it's a contract phone but I have my Cell C SIM in it)? I kept all the boxing and stuff it came with, will that be enough?

On a side note: Running stock ICS at the moment, had the music playing for quiet a while now and the phone is still cool, it would had been flaming on WIUI. Also played a good few min of full HD video and it kept cool. The only problem is that it still doesn't want to connect via mass storage.

Think I'm still gonna take it back though

If you are going to take it back you have to be able to tell them exactly what's wrong.

In my experience you cannjust take the phone in, without documentation. They just check the IEMI r whatever number against your mtn contract.
 
I think I know why USB mass storage isn't working. When I plug in the cable I think the phone gets "confused" between mass storage and dock mode. At the moment the cable is plugged in and the phone keeps switching between mass storage mode and S Voice or something. Very weird.

I like RR too, but the fundemental shortcoming in all these non-stock roms, is that I can not sort my apps in the drawer to my liking. I like to keep similar apps together in seperate pages like social, networking, root apps, games, etc. The closest is Wanamlite based on UHLPS - basically stock UHLPS with all bloatware removed and tweaked to produce better battery life and being a bit quicker

I have CM loaded as a secondary rom now, but I know I will revert before the end of the day.

Worked fine for the past day (CM9 RC2). Have now flashed today's nightly. It's been stable for months, so it's really about preference more than stability/features.

Anyone actually using the experia launcher in the 2.6 Remix Rom?

Guys which smsc number are you using... With Resurrection Remix I have to enter one in every time I reboot

Was not 100% sure, cos my sis reckons the wallpaper looks a bit "busy". But it grows on you. :)
