I wanna dip my toes into the custom rom pool, and this seems like a good entry point. Thanks for the feedback.
Any issues so far?
You may want to go back and check out the fix that was posted a page or two back - it sorts out the momentary freezing of the lock screen. Nothing else to worry about apart from that.

Funny enough, I never had this UNTIL I flashed the fix. Luckily, I managed to restore my backup and everything was fine.
wikk3d88- it is an excellent entry point. I am also inclined to agree that it is the best LSJ-based ROM available.

Got the itch (again) and thought I'd put GB back on my S2 for a change & see my 2000 mAh battery last two days.
But I just can't do it. The thought of wiping Jelly Bean off my S2 had me gasping for air.

My phone is suddenly misbehaving.
It keeps acting as if a charger has been connected. Small beep, and shows lock screen when on standby, and the battery indicator actually shows the charging icon.
i took the battery out and when i put it back, it immediately shows the charging battery icon, and took 10 minutes to get it started.
Leaked JB and standard battery.
Anyone seen this before?

Check for dirt in the mini usb connector - clean with compressed air. Happened to me and that was the fix.

Hey guys, my contract is up for renewal and I was thinking of getting the S2. Now I know it isn't the latest phone available but it is still a pretty awesome phone and would serve my needs.

Cell C still have them on offer. R370 p/m on a Straight Up 100. Basically, R270 p/m on top of whatever contract you pick.

While I absolutely love my S2, I would not recommend this phone now, especially as your contract will be new... Have to ignore bias here
Don't take this contract. Take the iPhone 5 contract for R399. Sell iPhone. Buy yourself a Nexus 4 / Note 2 / S3 and have enough for change

Feel dirty just thinking of that.
Wrt to 370p/m for the s2, I may as well get the S3 at 329 on straight up 100.

MTN has the S2 on a MTN 100 contract for R189 a month. You also get 150MB data for the entire contract.
Best deal I've seen for the S2.
