Ya, I think you have to have an SA based modem. That said, CM roms never seem to have this issue when I used them.

The standard battery fits fine with the extended battery cover. I always keep a spare battery in my car. In fact, using the standard battery right now.

There is no slack and no need to carry both covers.

Will a standard case still fit with the extended battery?

First thing my wife asked was if she had to buy a new case. If she does, anyone know where from?

Nope, it does not fit.

The extended battery is physically thicker.

But you can use it the other way round - standard battery with extended battery cover.
 
I use a "bumper" type cover on mine which just has rubber around the edges. Fits fine over the extended battery, the cutout is basically the exact same position as the battery cover.
 
I have put Neatrom on my old S2 for my wife. Now her contacts are auto joining. Contacts get joined even if they have no resemblance or relationship with each other. Any ideas?

Open Apps > Contacts > Settings, everything is there. Also check the 'choose which contacts to display'.

There is, but it isn't an official extended battery. Was going to post the link for you (it's from Expansys) but their site is down.

It's a 3500mah battery. Rear cover is rather ugly though...

Im almost sure I saw the official white extended cover from takealot a few months ago. Maybe email them?
