I've never had any internal sd stuff gone missing after a full wipe. There are options for sd wipes/formats but I never use them. Make backups just to be sure.
 
Okay, i did a reinstall, still stuck, then i did a full wipe in CWM still stuck, then a full wipe and reinstall, still stuck. Theeeeeeeeeeeeeen, i went into CWM and did the following:
Wiped the cache partition
In Advanced and wiped the dalvik and batt stats
In mounts and storage did format / system
Then format / data
Then format / cache
Then reinstalled the rom again and finaaaaaaaaaly some life.

Installed CWM and tried doing a nandroid restore and it failed restoring /data

At this point i stopped caring about my data, so now im busy setting up my phone now from scratch.

What a mission.
 
This sounds sooo familiar... :|

Most of your data should be safe in the cloud anyway. You got Ti Backup?
 
Yep, restoring the important apps now.
Thank god i set some scheduled tasks in TI to backup almost every night.
 
@ linkinpark, was your phone rooted when you had the bootloop?
 
Has anyone used the new JellyBam 5.2 version? Or used the 5.1? Just want to know how it fairs against the other Roms out there based on 4.2.1.

EDIT. Don't worry installed and still think Rootbox 3.6 is better.

Okay, I now too have had a horror story about bootloops and being stuck at the bootscreen. Enough with LS8 - back to LSJ and now rock solid again with the mods I like.

When on LS8, I was busy charging my phone and then installed an app. The app froze the phone and I restarted by pressing the powerbutton for a couple of seconds - then the phone was stuck at the bootscreen. So I thought, get into recovery and flash NeatROM Lite 4.2 again and the problem will be solved. No luck. So I decided to restore a nand backup (NeatROM Lite 4.0 (LSJ) with Siyah) and I got it to boot, but also a weird error of some process that has to stop. I flashed NeatROM Lite 4.0 over the backup with the same problem. Went into recovery and wiped cache and dalvik cache - no joy. With my sense of humour long gone, I managed to flash the original leaked LSJ with mobile Odin and the phone went into bootloop. Went into recovery and did a factory reset and restored a nand backup. Bootloop! Factory resetted again and flashed NeatROM Lite 4.0 - boot-freakin-loop! Factory resetted again and restored an older nand backup (version of LSJ) - running like a rolex! Restored all user data with TB and no hassles so far.

2 things worth remembering:
1. Make Nand backups often
2. Don't reboot your S2 while charging if you are on LS8. I read that there are more people with the same issue.

I should have listened to myself a couple of weeks ago when I said I will wait for a German or Dutch version of JB. Now I will!

LSJ is a UK ROM. :)
 
Posted my tale of woe on the MTN Facebook page. They sent me a message of apology and asked for my details to escalate. Lets see what happens now.

You have no idea! There was a moment where I wanted to test the structural integrity of the phone when thrown at 100kph against a brick wall... What pissed me off mostly was that the latest nand backup was corrupted and I didn't know that. There must be a way to test it apart from the auto md5 check. Will look around later

I went through that yesterday! Random bootloop, and my nandroid backup was corrupt. But i'm back on LS8, if it happens again im going back to ICS
