Samsung Galaxy S23

I wonder if it's not worth alternating, i.e. majority of the time have the battery saving on, every now and again turn it off for a couple of weeks.

With battery saving on I am finding I am sometimes charging twice a day with the S23+. However I am a bit paranoid of letting the battery go too low in case of an emergency so I'll start charging again around 20-25% if I remember, or if I am going out for a while I'll want a full 85% charge first.
Think that might be the solution

Yeah, i forgot to elaborate, it feels like my battery is degrading already, which of course it will over time, but lately noticeably so. I never used to have to charge twice a day with battery saving on.

Turned the feature off now and then got a surprise seeing it would take 52 minutes to charge up vs the normal 30 minutes on a 45W charger. Misjudged how much time i have as load shedding will cut my charging attempt short by about a few minutes.

Also noticed battery saving off, bump in charging time. But I only had to charge much later

Yeah trade offs. Of course it will take longer to charge (I wasn't thinking), it's just that one gets so used to the shorter time.

Now if changing the battery is a reasonable cost one day, then I'd perhaps not bother with battery saving mode.

Wow charging to 100% is making the duration between charges now super long, making my low battery paranoia disappear!

Strange how that 15% makes a difference, I took my phone off the charger at 5am, it's now 10:45 and I've had 2 phone calls, multiple whatsapps and it's at 82%.

That last 15% takes longer to charge but it also then seems to run down slower.

I'm on 86% now, almost 4 hours after having finished charging to 100% at 3pm.
