Thanks for the feedback peeps..tried the reboot as soon as I couldnt find it but will try again later..

:mad:Dont waste your time - its not JB .
Its supposedly a small update (friggin 900MB update) that finished most of my data for the month.
900MB !!!!! WTF!
 
It's 88 MB. And never use mobile networks for updates, that's just common sense

Huh? Is this a whatsapp problem or is S3? i have the phone rooted [this was never a problem before] and haven't fiddled with loading different roms in the last few weeks. This is been ongoing since a month now.

I'm running stock ICS 4.0.4 unrooted (mainly because I can't get the Mac rooting/flashing stuff to work yet, will persist...) and my copy/pasting has stopped working.

I can copy, then when I long touch to paste, it pops up with "Clipboard" but doesn't paste.
 
Yep. I've also used stock, CM9 and currently on a Nexus version of JB because I got fed up with the "official" update not working. Copy and paste has always worked, and still does.

All the nice features of Touchwhiz, unfortunately don't anymore... :cry:

That's why I moved to Omega.
 
Just that you can remove everything that annoys you from the get go. Things that consume battery life and RAM. Like Kies and Kies wifi, and touchwhiz. Yes you can freeze them, but this is more robust.

Then there's custom themes, custom camera, rolletube (youtube with download option), and Omega files where you can chop and change your ROM to your liking.

Its a slightly better stock experience.

So it includes things like the Touchwhiz phonebook, phone app, video player, and the motion controls that the SIII comes out with? Because I loved those, especially the video player and being able to pause playback by putting my hand on the screen, and the 2 finger and motion zoom.

I'm currently on a VERY stock JB (it's exactly like the Nexus). It doesn't include any bloatware whatsoever, but yeah, video player is gone. So are motion controls. So are the toggles in the notification area that TW has.

Ya. It's based on stock.

I was on cm10 which is pretty close to AOSP. Only thing i missed was camera app and video player and gallery.
 
If you're flashing Omega, then choose custom.

I remove everything S branded, all the hubs, kies, mobile print.

I use allshare with xbmc so that's a keeper.

Then you'll want to get Omega files from the market. And customize to your heart's content. Maybe remove the ram script, add Note 2 camera, add stock status bar toggles.
 
Hi guys,

What is the most latest official JB ROM for our phones? Is it XXDLIB? I don't want to flash a custom ROM at this stage.

Has it been working fine on SA's networks?
 
Samsung uses the standard AOSP Gallery as far as I know... But that video player is just too good to live without.

Actually I don't get all the Touchwhiz hate. It's by far the best implementation of ICS I've seen, functionality-wise. It might not be the prettiest but it's not exactly ugly. Well, apart from the terrible memory management, it closed apps far too easily for my liking.

The AOSP/Nexus version of JB just looks incredible though, wish I could have that with at least the phonebook, dialer and video player from Touchwhiz. I find CM a bit too basic as well, maybe I'll check this Omega thing out.
