You not finding many bugs on leaked 4.2.1 for the galaxy s3 or not?
 
just updated to 4.2.1. All worked, decided to do a wipe, now when I am going through the whole set up phase the keeps vibrating intermitantly and I keep getting an SMS called "CB:UMHLANGA ROCKS" coming through? Hopefully it sorts it self out after a restart

Go into your message settings and turn off CB sms
 
I'm on 4.2.1 for a week now after wiping etc but get the following error msg often:
The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped

Any ideas on what I should do to solve this?

seems to have stopped, enabled smart stay but doesn't seem to work.

Phone seems very slow. Want to put it back to 4.1. When I wipe its just a factory reset wipe not a cache partition wipe, correct?

Was very slow, and very low on ram, until I went into titanium and froze all the Samsung crap.

It's flying now.
 
List of frozen apps. Some of these you might use. I suggest not using Samsung services and account. Use at own risk. Not sure what half of these do. But no problems yet

Edit: A lot of bloatware wasn't present since it was removed at install time i.e. omega rom. (S voice, video hub, Samsung apps, Yahoo news, clock widgets, music hub, help hub, kies, kies Wi-Fi, etc)

Why freeze and not just remove them? Samsung has some great services, my favourite being DIVE, the excellent remote tracking, alert and wiping service.

Found DIVE to be very unreliable and bloated. Avast anti theft or cerberus are much better.

Freeze coz space is not an issue, and in case I find I need those services in the future.

Oh, I forgot, I'm using omega, so a lot of the Samsung crap wasn't installed in the first place. Like s voice, Yahoo news, all the hubs, etc
 
Ah shall wait till official or let's hope for a s4 by then!! 8 more days booyah

I'm using Omega too. I haven't had any issues with DIVE. I opt not to install the vast majority of bloatware every time I update. How much free RAM do you generally have?
 
Maybe I missed this but is there a way to put the normal lock screen back on omega 4.2 1? I don't want the lock screen that lets u add widgets?
 
It's not really about how much free ram but about how many user apps are kept in the stack. By disabling background system apps, you're freeing up more space in the stack for user apps like the launcher. Which means you have deeper multitasking, and Android kills less apps to free up ram for your on screen app.

Generally Android will maintain the same amount of free ram.
 
Might be behind the curve here but got my 4.1.2 update ota this morning...now to learn to use it..LOL!
