Samsung Galaxy S3

Hi everyone, so i installed CM10.2 on my S3 but need to go back to stock. I made a backup of stock ROM in CWrecovery. Can i just restore the backup and clean cache ? or do i need to download stock rom and flash that like i did with CM10.2 ?

No just restore. Maybe to be safe do a full wipe first.

Get CM Installer from Play Store and just follow the instructions. Easy as pie.

NOTE: Backup all your data first though as you will lose everything.

Anyone got a going rate for an S3? Around 8months old, always had a screen protector and case. Plus battery packs with original box and whats left of MTN 24month warranty + potentially getting it repaired free at vodacom (for as long as i still work there). :/

Hows Temaseks v8 build going? Really wanna hit kit-kat but dont want to do a full wipe if its not 100% yet, just laaaaaazy

Haha, installed CM on my s3 2 weeks ago, like a Nexus 5 now.. waiting for official CM kit-kat now :P

Best thing to happen to S3.. the speed difference

+1 best thing to happen to the s3 since cm9.

Cm10 had too many issues. Cm11 is awesome. (Still some small non core issues)

I know it has been said before on here, but after upgrading to CM I cannot believe I didn't do it before

One question, do i need to download the gapps? What am i missing by not having it?

2 items for CM users:

1) how do i do video calls, seems this was a Samsung proprietary function
2) What is the easiest way to do incremental CM updates, without losing data?

The thing I hate about getting in to flashing ROMs is the constant cycle of flashing ROMs every time the DEV updates it...
My custom settings/apps takes hours/days to redo every time I wipe it. I know there is Titanium but that is often not recommended.

For this reason my S3 is still on stock (rooted with crapware frozen) for almost year after I got it. Have to admit that it is getting really sluggish lately, probably due to the 210 apps/plugins (not exaggerating) installed. I cant wait to flash it in December when I have lots of free time on my hands. Hoping we will have a rock solid 4.4 by then.

Some feedback on 4.4

I'm currently on Temasek's v10 and the updates which come regularly can be "dirty" flashed over his exisiting ROM.
In so far as Kernels are concerned, I'm using his Boeffla kernel which allows the sound module to be customised. You have to d/l the Boeffla sound app from the Playstore.

Haven't had any freezing or fc's using this rom and most 4.3 apps have now been updated to 4.4

In so far as Omni Rom is concerned, there are still a good few issues in terms of fc's, keys not responding etc. So in my opinion I can't use it yet as a daily rom.

Once you're on cm, updates don't affect your data.

Also you get cm updater (off the playstore) which only downloads the changes. I just download the complete rom since its only 200mb.

CM10.2 Stable came out yesterday. I'm downloading now and will give it a spin over lunch :)

I was waiting for the RC1, but I'll take a Stable now that it's out;)
