Samsung Galaxy S3

If you going from original to rooted, you need to wipe. It replaces everything including your modem. If going from rooted, to stock the same applies. Need to wipe in order to reload the original firmware. Phone got stock on a boot loop until i formated it. Anyway, the only complaints i have is the epic lag on the unlock screen. Sweet baby toad. Sometimes i fear its just never going to unlock, then i press it again and it unlocks locks insta. There must be a fix for this somewhere.

Ok, I didn't even think about a rooted device. For me there is no reason to root it. Perhaps someone else here has more information on this.

No reason to root? Custom ROM's like Cyanogenmod are much faster than stock firmware. My mom is running stock on her S3 and every time I help her with something I'm shocked at how sluggish it is.

As for factory resetting, it always has to happen unless you're doing a simple update.

Try "toggle signature verification". That will turn the verification off. Else your file could be corrupt. Try redownload it maybe if that fails.

I have tried that...but to no avail...This is the process:
Settings -> about device(v4.0.4) -> software update -> update.

It downloads 87 megs of stuff then when it reboots, I get that error screen.

Which 4.3 stock rom to go for my S3 is currently on I9300XELLA original UK rom it seems.
Sammobile only shows these two 4.3 ?
Country/Carrier Date Version PDA Kies
Switzerland (Swisscom) 2013 November 4.3 I9300XXUGMJ9
Ireland (Vodafone) 2013 November 4.3 I9300XXUGMJ9

Those on the official 4.3 ROM... has the black clipping issue finally been resolved?

Is there an ETA on when we can expect KitKat to roll out to the GS3?

just bought a new S3 after my phone was stolen, R2500 :D

Flashed it immediately and put cyanogen 10.2 on. What an awesome rom, really stable and super super smoothe, good modification options and just extreeeeeeeeeeemely smoothe and responsive. Can't believe i stuck with the touchwiz on my previous phone (albeit a custom rom version). Ahhhhhh so happy to have the nexus experience once again, now they must just make a kitkat version :D
