Samsung Galaxy S3

Phew- had a scare when the power button stopped working in Recovery Mode. It'd turn screen on or off but not select the 'Reboot System Now' option as I needed it to...

The home button also switched screen on and off.

The volume rocker worked as usual.

I had to take battery out and restart- everything seems fine now. Apps updated etc, and running fine. Coming from CM10.2 M1, there are no noticeable changes (I haven't read the changelog) and I'm using the same GApps.
 
I guess it's the usual story: if all goes well, there's nothing much to say. If it all goes horribly wrong, you'll hear about it! ;)

Coming from the M1, this is very similar- I noticed a new boot screen though, which is the only difference so far.

The only instability (?) I experienced with M1 was the locations services/maps/gps chowing my battery after I'd stopped using whatever app needed access to said services (Maps/Strava/Weather etc). I'll test that specifically to confirm if it's still an issue.

Anyone get around the issue that EAP-FAST is not available as an option when trying to connect to a corporate wifi network?

I just saw the CM10.2 Stable update notification.. doing my Titanium Backup and will report back on the flipside.

Edit: Cool, all done. Wish I hadn't stayed awake though :/

I ran into a couple of very minor obstacles:

When I clicked to reboot and install the update after it downloaded. The phone rebooted into the CM updater but came up with the error that it couldn't find the update file.
I saw there was an option in the menu to update from SD so I just copied the file from the phone memory to my external SD card, rebooted into recovery mode and installed without a problem just like any other ROM.

One thing they don't mention when updating through the app, is that you'll need the Google Apps for 4.3 (available from CM wiki). Install that in recovery mode after the update file and you're good to go!
.......Edit Edit: I had a corrupted download of GApps so couldn't install it until rebooting and copying the file across. I've found that installing GApps fixed all but a couple of them (Keep, Drive, Chrome) I had to reinstall manually through Play Store.

Another issue I ran into was Prey Anti-Theft - it kept crashing on start-up, and because I had given it Admin rights, I couldn't install it through the app manager either. Had to remove Prey's admin rights in the Security Settings menu and then I could uninstall and reinstall, afterwhich I'm 100% back up and running.

I must say, as smooth as I found 10.1.3, 10.2 seems epic. My fingers literally can't keep up with how smooth and quick it is :)

Haven't noticed many other differences in the few minutes I've been using it.

Anyone have any idea when the S3s will be updated to 4.3 in SA? I'm tired of 4.1

I'm wondering the same. Having trouble with LiquidSmooth 4.3. Camera bombed out on me last night while I was trying to video an important concert :o

You'd be doing them a favour. Everyone should be using Skype and/or Viber.
 
My phone went for a swim on Saturday. It was in my pocket, and my friend thought it would be funny to push me into the swimming pool. Who still does that? For the past 15+ years people have been carrying cellphones and car remotes and keys in their pockets :rolleyes:

At first, the only thing that would come on was the camera flash, and the LED would stay on. Took the phone apart, left it in the sun, and put it together. Had a few issues with the flash going on at random times, but now the phone seems perfect again. Am I just really lucky, or can I expect it to **** out a bit later?

I would be seriously pd-off! I heard that leaving it in the sun isn't recommended.
Apparently it is the good idea to take the battery out immediately, dry it off and leave it in a tub of uncooked rice (absorbs the moisture).
