Samsung Galaxy S3

How is it? Faster? Better than the previous version? How does it compare to cm?

Haven't played much, but it's much better then the old stock version. But I'll test battery life, etc. Must feels faster and smoother atm. I'd highly recommend it. It was very easy to do as well.No hassles.

Whats a good asking price for a 14 month old S3? Screen is in great condition but there are those tiny scratches on the rear which are unavoidable on the S3.

Blue, Rooted.

Anyone been using the 2A note charger for a sustained amount of time to charge their S3? When I used a 2A charger on my BB, it seemed to kill the battery completely after a few months...

Careful. 2A chargers charge at double the power. So they will fry your phone's. We had several issues with rapid chargers destroying and eating batteries back at Vodacom.

Google suggested that the phone draws only as much power as it needs... But that has not been key experience...

A lot of phones come with 2A chargers nowadays. 2A rating is the max power the charger can provude. The phone does not continuously draw 2A.

Practice beats theory. However the phone should limit the current draw to a max of 1000 mA assuming the voltage is correct, and you haven't altered the limit.

Im speaking from experience as a year data specialist working for the vodashop in waterfront. But hey, if google tells me im wrong. We have seen batteries grown double in size within 30 days usage of the 2A blackberry chargers. The one's with the yellow tips.

I've only used a 2A Samsung charger on a Samsung phone - not sure what BlackBerry chargers do though.

Hence I said practice beats theory. Probably charging at a higher voltage.

Can't you change this by rooting?

Yes. Custom kernel.

Been playing with the official Swedish version. Quite quick. Really impressed so far.

I had this when I installed 4.2.1. Wifi works, and I can make calls, but no data. Reverted to 4.1.2 again.

Maybe the update replaced the Baseband?

What baseband are you running?

I'm running 4.4.2 on my S3 with the XXEMB5 baseband which I have as a ZIP file if required.
