I'm running 4.4.2 on my S3 with the XXEMB5 baseband which I have as a ZIP file if required.

Baseband XXUGMK6 , Odin does flash red and say fail, not sure why as I did a wipe. When loading 4,3 on in Odin there was no one TAR file so I had to put the bl,pda,phone,csc all in. Before I just did the pda. Getting signal now and phone seems to be working fine But odin said "all threads completed" succeed 1/ fail 1

UPDATE
All seems to be working except the google play store wont update to the latest version. so downloaded the apk for it online

Are you using the latest international version?
I updated last night and everything works - am on cellC using Vodacom network.

I've just tried installing cm-11-20140104-SNAPSHOT-M2-i9300.zip

I'm getting E:Error in /sdcard/cm-11-20140104-SNAPSHOT-M2-i9300.zip (Status 7) Installation aborted.

Does this mean the zip is corrupt? I'm in limbo now as I've wiped SD, so cannot get another zip. Catch 22 :(

I'll have to get the same zip again and validate it or try a nightly which may work.

Are you using the latest version of TWRP or CWM? I have had issues flashing kitkat with outdated recovery versions. You might need to flash CM 10.2 update your recovery and then flash CM11

You will probably need to use a micro SD card in your PC to transfer the Zip file and then pop that in the phone...

What is the best way to update CWM? Via Rom manager?
 
Just updated CWM recovery, looks like 6.0.4.3 is the latest non touch version for the i9300. I was on 6.0.2.7. Looking to flash CM11 when we have a stable release.
 
I flashed Cwm 6 non touch with odin and it didn't work out very well. Had to flash cf-root again and got cwm 5.5 working then got a flashable zip of cwm 6 for the i9300 and that worked.

I've been on an Omega Android 4.1.2 for a few months now. My phone has become laggy and I think it is time for a new one.

Any recommendations?
