Anyone else got the official 4.3 update during the weekend? I downloaded it to my (previous) phone and my wife's - can't see major differences, but I'm pretty used to 4.3 on my Note 3. It does have the new lockscreen, notification bar and tabbed settings menu, but nothing else that gets me excited. It looks like it still uses the old camera app (no 360 / photosphere etc.)

Got the official 4.3 on Friday (about 450 MB). Not seeing much difference from 4.1.2, except that the lockscreen weather feature disappeared 
The camera app has a HDR shooting mode, but cant remember if it was previously there.

Hey all,
Is there a huge performance difference between this 4.3 update to the latest 4.4 ? Tired of waiting for official updates for my S3 and just want to be on the latest from now onwards. Lastly, how do i backup all my data with sms and phone log history, i prefer to keep these intact as much as i can

Contract/prepaid makes no difference.
The update just check your phone's sales code + sim combo.
XFA should always get it first.

FWIW vodacom prepaid customers (SO's phone) got the update a few days ago. I'm on Cell C and still waiting.

Yes.... After the update, my s3 lagged at times. Then less than 2 days after the update, whilst the phone was on charge and not being used, it hard bricked. Nothing works, no reset, doesn't charge etc.
Wonder if anybody else has had this. I see lots of similar complaints on overseas forums, but none here yet.
Same, i see temasek is up to V48 now, wondering if i should just jump and give it a go

Temasek is great. No major issues besides an unstable camera. But it hasn't been problematic recently.
No issues for me thus far. Battery seems to take longer to charge, but also seems to last longer.

cm 11 nightlies is very stable. Even 4.4. 2 aokp. But I prefer cm. I am currently trying fusion with boefla kernel. It has almost all the goodfrom paranoid android like halo and pie and a *****load of customizing options
OK so went from fusion back to cm 11 night lies. Fusion has 2 many bugs and phone is slow.

Upgraded me and my wife's phones two days ago and thus far had no issue with phone freezing up. Works gr8 as usual on CellC network!
