is everything working"? hows the camera? and video recorder? playback is 100%?

Camera is working, have not tried video recorder as I don't use this. It is stable and my battery life is much better but I have always used Juice defender and now with this rom I have went through all my apps and only allowed the ones I need permission for wakelocks and partial locks. Believe me CM11 is just too plain compared to this.

Guys if you want the best custom rom for the S3 its Resurrection Remix 4.4.2 KitKat http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/gt-i9300-resurrection-remix-4-4-2-t1815285. I have been using it for a month and I can wirte reviews for ours on how it has transformed my phone. Halo, active notifications and transparent lock screen are the best of the many features.

Looks amazing :D

I was just getting ready for CM M5 due soon. Perhaps I'll try this before then.

Regarding backup- will a full backup of CM M4 include all apps, data, settings etc? Which I can then export to SD/Copy to PC to restore from should Resurrection not be my thing...

You'll need to flash the latest ClockworkMod recovery, using either Heimdall or fastboot, then boot the phone into recovery, then perform a full backup from the recovery menus. When that's done, 'adb pull' the entire /sdcard/clockworkmod directory to your PC. Then run the installer.

Restoring is simply a matter of booting into recovery, 'adb push' the entire directory back to the device (which has been wiped) and then doing a restore from the recovery menu.
, from here

Seems to suggest CWM backups include everything, and can be restored from fairly easily. Do I need to use Titanium Backup on top of that? I'll move all media files off separately before backing up.

Nandroid backups include everything, when moving to a different ROM I should use titanium but nowadays I just backup the data I really need manually. Most of my stuff is on SD anyway

Flashed the 05-03 Pacman nightly and it had some FC issues and the call log was broken. But, it is a truly awesome ROM.

Flashed the latest nightly and all is sorted. It really is my new favourite ROM. It has, well, everything...

Is this just for stats?

How much did a new battery cost?

I bought a NEW battery for like $5 off amazon. Best decision ever. Phone was about a 15 months old at the time. Lasts much longer. Seriously just do it

I just unrooted and returned to stock. Lets see if my battery improves.

Update: After using an unrooted, stock JellyBean S3. My battery life seems to be improved.

Please send the link you bought from, would like to use the same seller/battery model.

Please also advise on duties, etc and any other relevant info that may help.

Thanks!

If one roots the device and uses a custom ROM, what happens to the home, back and menu buttons? Do they become useless and then appear on screen instead like the Nexus has them?

They work as normal. Although some custom ROMS show them on the screen as well.

Temasek Rom has the option to disable hardware buttons, reassign hardware buttons, display on-screen buttons, force 3 dot menu

Made the switch to CM 11 Nightly (2014 04 18) from 10.2 Stable, and I'm very impressed.

I was skeptical to go with a Nightly since I had a bad experience on my S2 back in the day with a nightly DarkyROM, but I have yet to run into any issues with this one.

They've ironed out the one or two bugs that were in 10.2, as well as giving it some fresh interface tweaks. It's also more fluid and loving 4.4.

All round happy camper over here.
