Samsung Galaxy S3

I'm already covered in that area. If I keep it would just be for backup or trips. Which does seem a waste. I was going to give it to my gf in Spain as a gift as it would work as a phone there, but she dumped me so...

Get rid of the phone! It sounds like bad luck.

I'm actually looking for an S2/S3 to load XBMC on and connect it to my TV. My wife's S3 is busy dying but it seems to be software related, I will not tell her that..
/evil grin
:D

Well if that doesn't work give me a shout :p

Reckon I can just post it on gumtree with obviously a mention of the issue?

im on my second charge for today, what kind of screen on times are you getting?

i get max 2 hours per charge.

Decided to get one of these. My S3 has become a charger huger, my battery is currently at less than 20% and I charged it just this morning.

Time for a new phone perhaps? I used to constantly charge my S3. Since getting a OnePlus One with a 3100mAh battery though it seems like no amount of usage can kill it in less than a day.

Having said that, I replaced my S3's battery for R190 a while before I sold it. It was a generic 1900mAh thing, but it worked fine and was a noticeable improvement over the aged stock battery.

I did replace my battery, I tried a generic before but it didn't help much. Got a new original Samsung battery now and it seems much better.

If Samsung is anything then the word generic suits it perfectly. There no such thing as "original" when it comes to this company.

When you are peddling cheap plastic crap at premium prices so what if you have to replace units ?

Are you arguing that non "cheap plastic crap" phone's screens don't break?

I prefer cheap plastic crap with ADH instead of cheap metallic crap without it.

What phone do you have btw?

The link just says "no matches found"?

The build quality of Samsung's devices might not be anything special, but S5's internal hardware is no worse than the HTC One M8's. It's easy to root and disable unwanted bloatware. You only need to change the launcher to not expose yourself to the godawful TouchWiz. The plastic build makes it more resilient than metal. And the camera is usually among the best.

It's not for me personally, but if people place a lot of value on the local warranty support, or they find a really good deal to buy one, then there's no shame in going Samsung. I loved my S3 for the two years I had it, albeit because I was running Cyanogenmod for most of that time.

Lg g2. And while I am aware that the phone is mostly plastic, the pricing for what you get is a bargain.
