Is this the latest version of the stock rom? Have you tried installing the latest if it is not or reverting to an earlier one if it is the latest?

I have yes, 4.1.2. Nothing so far has worked.

When I do this, the step where I select FTM OFF, I get a reply of NOT SUPPORTED. I manually changed it on the file in the FactoryMode folder as well, but it still did not work.

Sorry dude, then I don't have an clue. You'll need to find a cell repair shop that can do it for you. It doesn't need to go through the official repair chain, it just needs someone with the right hardware to do factory resets and the like. Have you tried a samsung shop or repair centre? You are running an official rom after all.

And I have not tried anywhere else, other than Cell C themselves, who said it will take 2 months and cost R500, which is ridiculous on both counts. So I presumed it will be similar somewhere else. Not true?

It's certainly not worth R500 for me.

Well in the UK they charge roughly 20 pounds so R500 is probably about right. This procedure should be able to be done while you wait if you go to the right place.

No problems thus far but I do prefer C ROM because of the hover notifications... No train smash though.

There is a lag on the phone when mirroring but I think that's expected. The audio does work but if that's your need, why not just cast music using Localcast.

Because when casting music there is a couple of seconds delay between tracks + I dont like the interface.

Hoping someone might help. I got an S3 32GB about 18 months ago. Worked beautifully and then after 1 year I couldn't connect to Vodacom. Long story short (posted it on MYbb at the time) the sealed phone I bought from a dealer who either obtained it fraudulently or his supplier did, and my phone had been blacklisted. Had no luck with dealer, police nor a mybb member who initially offered to help create an affidavit for myself and other mybb members who were effected.

So I got a new phone and the S3 in great condition has just been sitting around. I had to fly to Joburg last month and took it with to watch movies at the airport, but as a movie player and wifi backup device it's probably wasted. Was wondering if anyone knew a place that might be willing to pay for the parts? I had an offer of R750 but it seemed a bit low. But maybe I'm wrong and should either sell for that or just keep as a mobile email/skype/hangouts backup device if my current phone ever dies on me.

I'm already covered in that area. If I keep it would just be for backup or trips. Which does seem a waste. I was going to give it to my gf in Spain as a gift as it would work as a phone there, but she dumped me so...

Try flashing another radio. Worked for me on my note 2. Custom roms also worked

Same battery kit Samsung Store was asking R700 for and i see they have the S3 battery only for R272

Decided to get one of these. My S3 has become a charger huger, my battery is currently at less than 20% and I charged it just this morning.

i get max 2 hours per charge.
