Samsung Galaxy S3

Tegra3 chip as well.

Nevertheless I'm super happy with my S3 :D

IMO tegra3 is completely overrated. The exynos is by far the superior chip and the S3's GPU is also better. The only thing is that tegra has its own dedicated games but those can be played on a non-tegra device with "ChainFire".

The exynos chip is one of the reason i'm picking the S3 over the OneX because its that much better IMO :)

Guys can someone explain this facial recognition thing please?

I have it enabled but when I try unlock the screen, it does not use it, just shows a black screen in middle of screen.

Any ideas?
Also do you guys have car mode working?

Thanks

Face recognition is a nice gimmick, I probably used it for one day on my S2 (never bothered to try it on my S3). It only works good in a well lit area. You will get a black screen when there isn't enough light to recognise your face, one of the reasons I don't use it.

It's also not a very secure way to lock your phone since it can be opened and fooled by using a photograph of your face.

Apparently the face unlock feature in Jelly Bean is much better and more secure, it requires you to blink one eye as well. Although more secure it certainly is not impossible to fool the phone with something like a moving gif.

I love the Llama app. It automatically detects that I'm home, switches on WiFi, syncs my new files like new pics I've taken automatically with Dropbox and adjusts all of my notifications, sound and display settings. It then detects when I leave home and makes the necessary adjustments. Awesome...

ooooo, thanks, getting this app

What do you guys prefer?

TouchWiz or GO Launcher EX on your S3?

I've looked at the video clip to see what GO EX does. It looks nice but dont know if it's really nicer than TouchWiz.

Ok, I've watched the last 2 minutes of the video after my previous post. I like the idea of using my phone in Landscape. I got used to that when I was using my iPhone.

I have to get it.

I prefer Go Launcher, it has some nice features like gestures to launch apps. It can be customized to your liking, I've been using it for quite some time on my S3 and love it.

GO Launcher EX > TouchWiz.

I like the ability to customise it - and the gestures are awesome - like swiping down anywhere on the home screen to pull the notification bar down, and swiping up to bring up the settings menu.

I've tried Apex, Nova and ADW Launcher Ex - but I always end up back using GO Launcher Ex.

No IMO about it. Benchmarks confirm that the Exynos is (significantly) faster. But then I don't think we have anything at the moment that really takes advantage of the power of these new phones. Maybe 3D games but that's it.

Anyone have any recommendations for ad-blockers or airpush blockers and spam blockers on android? Even to block ads in games?

This was tweeted from one of the XDA chefs @Faryaab an hour ago:

"I'm 80% done with AOSP JellyBean for the #GalaxyS2 and the #GalaxyS3. Will soon start compiling."

Awesome :D

Will flash my S2 first though

Will hopefully get my S3 within the next couple of days.

Without going through 43 pages, can someone please post a link to the easiest method to root the phone.
